SIN to sponsor for dependent PR

Hello Everyone!

Does anyone know if I need to SIN to sponsor my spouse for PR? I recently did my PR landing through the Windsor tunnel but due to the 14-day quarantine policy, I couldn't apply for SIN and now I came back to the US.
Since I am planning to sponsor my spouse soon, I am wondering if anyone has a compiled list of requirements and documents needed to apply for PR dependent. If so please share it with me.

Thank you for quick reply! No I am not married as of now but I will be in November! My Fiancee is currently not in Canada.

There is also the issue that as a permanent resident you have to be residing in Canada to be eligible to sponsor your spouse for permanent residence.

You’ll have your SIN# then by the time you can sponsor.
