Hi,
Below are the steps I took to get my Sikkim Manipal University degree assessed successfully thru ICAS Canada.
NOTE: I am unable to add links so please excuse.
1. Visit ICAS canada, go to Apply for Immigration to Canada section and go to Apply Now Section
2. Fill in all the details properly and pay the fees (including courier charges)
3. Go to Required Document section in Apply for Immigration to Canada, select India as Country and make note of all the required documents
a. I took photocopies of all my marks card (including graduation certificate) and couriered them to ICAS address along with the document submission form that ICAS will send via email (once fee is paid)
b. I contacted Sikkim Manipal University and asked them about the procedure for sending the official transcripts to ICAS. They emailed me a form which has to be submitted along with 10, 10+2 and bachelor degree marks card photocopies.
c. I sent the photocopies along with Official Records Request Form (Search for the same in ICAS website, I cant add the link unfortunately) filled properly. Also one needs to take a Demand Draft which will be Transcript fees + Courier Charges. Do contact SMU for latest fees.
4. Wait for a really long time.
a. I paid the fees on May 21st 2015
b. ICAS received documents from me on May 28th 2015
c. ICAS received documents from Sikkim Manipal on June 11th 2015
d. My application was placed in queue for assessment on June 16th 2015
e. Assessment started on Dec 3rd 2015
f. Assessment done on 9th Dec
g. Assessment send via E-mail on 14th Dec
h. Assessment dispatched via Courier on 15th Dec.
5. We can track the courier online using the link provided in an email which is sent from their courier partners. I am expecting the hard-copy of assessment to be delivered by 21st Dec 2015.
In the email that ICAS send you once the payment is done, there will be a link to track your application. You can use that link to track the progress of your application. If at any point, you feel like contacting ICAS, you can do so by using the contact form in ICAS website. I contacted them once and got a reply within 24 hours.
My suggestion would be to start the process as soon as possible since the entire thing takes almost 6 months compared to 2-3 weeks for WES. Have lots of patience.
Regards,
Masood Ahmed
