Never heard about CIC mailing a Signature required mails. Anyways if you did get it, you can call the courier company and tell them to hold it for you or else you can re-route it to a different address.

Thanks for your reply. In fact I do not know whether it is from CIC or somewhere else. My friend just have access to my post box and not living in my place, then he can not pick it up from post office. what authorization you mean? you mean I authorize my friend to have access to my post box? yes I did by writing a letter.

Thanks for reply, Hopefully it is not from CIC, Actually it is a lettermail from Canada post probably with an option of registered mail. I am afraid they do not forward some mails.

I haven't heard of CIC requiring signatures, but you do need to call CIC and tell them if you are out of the country for 2 weeks or longer so they won't schedule you for test or oath while you're gone.

eileenf,

HOw far into the process should one look into contacting CIC about a travel notification ? only once system shows one's file has come to the Local Office ?

What I am trying to say is, there are discrete steps at CIC that the application goes through after one mails it out. Precisely AFTER what step should one for sure notify CIC about travel - since before then doesnt matter anyway as it is still in prelim processing.

Once one is ready for testing ? I suppose ?

If you've sent in your application, you should notify the CIC of any absences from Canada 2 weeks or longer. There's no reason to try to game out what the exact moment that CIC may try to contact you might be in order to inform them at that exact moment and not inform them otherwise. Making predictions with the CIC is a losing game.

Thank you all for your replies. It was from RBC! the reason I did not inform CIC is that I do not know how long I'll be in US and I could be back to do test in short notice of few days.
