Man this is great.
From where did you apply?
Do you have stronger ties in your home than those in Canada? how did you overcome this issue?
Your comment light me up, I was very scared. I kept seeing people getting rejected with the reason "family ties in Canada" even though they don't have any relations in there so I thought what will happen to a person who has relatives in Canada.
I will prepare for my SP in few days if I get offer letter, can I get some help from you, only if it is alright with you?

You just have to apply and write a good SOP, and do your best to provide information which will show that you will return to your home country.

A lot of people come to study for graduate school here.

I would suggest not going to the same province if you can help it.

Applied with 8 Years of experience in same domain and also had applied for PR in past

Hello. Same situation as your. Mother and brother is in canada but i have my daughter and father here in the philippines. Did you mentioned your previous PR application in the SOP? And were you given the student visa the first time you applied for it? Thank you so much

I Didn't mentioned about my PR application, But mentioned about my visit to Canada on TRV.
I applied back in June'20 and there was no update on application till march'21, So had to wthdraw the previous one and filed again in Mid March.. Got approved within 10 Days the second time

Wow that is so good. By any chance do you mind sharing your SOP to my email huhu kathleenpearl0808@gmail.com thank youuuu for the reply

Similar situation here. Sibling is PR and I stated I’d be staying with her during the course of my study. Both my parents are in my home country though.
What are the odds?

Doesn’t matter
My brother is Canadian Citizen, Parents hold PR and still I got my study permit application approved
It all depends on your application and how well you play with your words

Hi, dis you go to the same province as your brother?

Thank you..

Hi, My sister is in the same boat as well. My sister is going to apply for a Study Permit and I am her brother who has Canadian PR (Came as a student too). She is applying to a different city but in the same province. Can anyone share their sop who was in the same boat? My email is tondonsunil302@gmail.com. I am afraid if her study permit will be canceled because of ky current status.

It is typically more difficult to get a study permit if you already have family in Canada but there is nothing she can do about having a brother already in Canada. Ensuring she is attending a reputable school/program and advanced studies is one way to increase her chances of success.
