Hi,
I have just received my file number. I"m going to send out my other documents, but I realized I have to provide the proof of funds at this stage. I'm receiving the money as a gift from my father. Is it OK to load my account with this money and have the certificate of balance to show for proof of funds? Obviously I can not wait for 6 months since I only have 120 days to submit all the documents.
Please help me with this.
Thanks,
Maria

Re: Showing proof of funds

Hi,
Send your full documents now, the funds you will need in several months only, they will ask you about that only after medical.

Re: Showing proof of funds

But according to the new regulations, every piece of document has to be sent within these 120 day. This is what the website says. Before they used to ask for it after the medicals were done, but I think it's different now. Also I need to know if it's a problem if I deposit the whole money into my account now. Please help if you can.

Re: Showing proof of funds

I am sorry, I didn't know that it is different now, I sent my medicals today and will wait until they ask me to show the funds. It is a not problem if you deposit the funds now, one of my friends put it on his account the day before, and my funds are also not in my account right now, I will deposit it when they ask, so it is a not problem, don't worry. :)))))

Re: Showing proof of funds

Thanks,
I'm glad things are working out for you. The time line for your application is very short. Is it normally the same for everyone?

Mostly the process is faster than before, maybe one month more or less, but it is not so long, I would finish everything sooner, just I sent my final documents only after 3 months, but it took less than 3 months to ask for medicals, I finished medicals on 30th of March and sent it on 31th.
So wait for medical request in about 3 months :))))))

I'm from Iram JM.
I'm asking because it tells us on the website that you can not deposit a large amount in your account suddenly and you need to show where it comes from. is that true?

hi MARY_76
what i would do in ur case is this:

1. get bank statement from ur bank for last 1 month until today
2. get a notarised statement of your father stating that he has given the money to u without prejudice & will not demand back the money later on for the foreseeable future & so on.
3. get another notarised statement from urself stating that u r accepting this gift (again keep a copy for urself)
3. attach this original notarised copy (of course keep a copy with u) with ur full docs
4. do transactions from the account until they ask again for bank statement in 6/8 months time(i am sure they will as u have only given 1 month statement)
5. this time give them lasr 6/8 months statement, it will show money from ur father is still there & u have been spending it
6. when IO will see all these, shouln't make any query

i hope it helps, but i am not an expert so, plz wait for others to comment, too..................

best of luck............

Please specify your visa office and accordingly I will advise you. Well generally you need to send Proof of funds along with the full documents only and should be for 3-6 months to be safe. (Depends upon the visa office)

the visa office is in Iran. Appreciate it.
I guess your local visa office would be "Damascus, Syria "

Every year, Canada welcomes more than 35 million visitors and thousands of new residents. Visitor, work and study visas are issued by the visa section at the Canadian Embassy in Iran. Permanent resident visas are processed by the Canadian Embassy in Syria.

Damascus, Syria Checklist.

SETTLEMENT FUNDS
(Refer to the "Proof of Funds" section of our Web site or the Guide for Federal Skilled Worker Applicants for exact figures and instructions.)
You must provide evidence of all unencumbered transferable funds you have available for settlement in Canada, including evidence of the accumulation of those funds. This must include a bank statement(s) showing all transactions for the last six months with a current balance at least equivalent to the minimum required funds. A letter of solvency providing the current balance of your accounts(s) or the average credits and debits in your account(s) is not acceptable evidence.
If you have recently deposited a large amount of money into your bank account, you must clearly explain the provenance of these funds (ex. Sale of property, inheritance, etc.) and provide supporting evidence

Hope it helped

Well I knew about this and that's why I asked the question. I wanted to know if they are absolutely strict about these since before things were much easier.
Second i need to know what happens if I present the proof of funds later when i receive my medicals.
Please tell me if you know.

This is for your second question. You need to send the proof of funds along with the complete file otherwise it will be treated as incomplete.
