Hi all,

I came to Canada on a student visa, got a PGWP after the end of my course. This PGWP will expire in May 2017. I have applied for Express Entry (FSW).

I have also applied for an extension in my visitor status in Canada. I submitted a copy of my bank statements to show I have sufficient funds for the duration of my stay. I also included a Letter of Support from my brother (Canadian citizen) that he can support me just in case.

I wanted to know whether I should have included copies of my tax returns along with the application, apart from my bank statements.

Thanks in advance.

Were they in your checklist? If not they are optional. Should you? depends on your case.... optional documents are hard to assess in that matter, that is why they are optional.

Thanks Jalex.

In the checklist I was given for Proof of Funds, they wrote "provide as many of the documents as you can", where they mention a few documents, tax reports being one among the many. In the rush to submit the application online, somehow it just slipped from my mind to include my tax reports.

I have provided a copy of my bank statements showing sufficient funds. Do you think I should contact them to submit my tax reports now? I went and checked but didn't see any option to upload any documents now. It was there before I submitted the application.

In general CIC doesn't want redundant documents, so "as many as you can" seems contradictory.

Anyway the application has already been submitted. Better wait the result.

Good luck.

I was thinking the same. Thanks again.
