I have a 3 yrs B.Com. and a 2 yrs M.Com. (dist. education) degree. Note that most Canadian uni's require 4 yrs of undergrad education so I have a reason for doing my M.Com.

Now, I am going to apply for a student visa with an admit for another Masters degree.

I'm afraid the busy VOs might not be convinced about my plans to do a 2nd Masters so I just want to know if it's fine to just show my B.Com. degree to them? I have work experience to cover up the M.Com. study period.

yar i think you should show your degree that would make your case stronger but try to convince the vo through your sop, show him what is the logic behind you going for another degree...plz tell whether you showed your degree for getting admision in canada? if yes then the vo can ask your university about your qualifications and there if he figured out that u are hiding your degree he will most certainly reject your case. so be truthful, there is no harm in showing your degree instead write a strong convincing sop

Yes, I showed it to the University. Answer these two questions please:

1) How does showing it to VO make my case stronger?

2) You really think VOs have the time to contact universities and ask them about the qualifications one applied with? Do you have first-hand proof of that ever happening or are you just making assumptions?

u getting into masters with a 3 year bachelor is a big clue to the VO that smthing is rong...

4 years bachelors is needed for masters in canada

What u can do is (consult seniors)

1) apply to a post grad diploma (Keep ur masters acceptance ready)
2) Hide ur masters since u have work ex to back that up
3) get visa for the college under SPP , when u reach canada u can change to a uni

the above is not easyyyy

OR

show ur masters , apply with a storng SOP explaing hw this would help u inur future plans blah blah nd hope for the besttt

The problem with route 1 is the low probability of getting a study visa for a college-level PGD as compared to a University Masters, more so because of the 4 yr study gap (2009 to 2013), isn't it?

graduate level diplommas r fyn , u said u have work ex between that period , so its not a gap. you finished ur bachelors
worked for 4 years now are applying to the graduate diplomma.

Its understood with a 3 year bachelors u can get thru to uni's , ur bound to apply for these advanced diplomma courses.

Interesting. I'm confused now what to do. Fact is I can't find any PGDs in Accounting, that's the only field related to my work experience.

Tiger ji, can you give your valuable input here?
