Hey. So I'm from the states and I've been an international student in Canada for almost a year now. As you all know it's very expensive to study as an international student. I've been paying $6000 per semester, and next year I was going to try to transfer from a college to a university, but then I'll have to pay twice that amount. All my savings is gone, all I have now is enough to pay next semester's tuition, and I am working, although I'm not saving that much money lately. But it seems like by next summer when I apply for the fall semester and apply to transfer to university, it doesn't look like I'll be able to afford it. And student loans are usually disbursed after starting school. The other thing I'm becoming concerned about is the amount of debt I'm accumulating. Based on what I've already borrowed, I already owe over $10,000. The only way I'm able to pay for school now since my savings is gone is with student loans. Which means I'll just accumulate even more debt in the long run. I could just go back and finish school in the states for much cheaper, or I could stay up here and try to survive on student loans and whatever I make from working. I like Canada and I don't want to go back to the states, but what do you all think I should do? In Canada I may be financially stressed out but I'm emotionally happier, but in the states it's financially easier but I'm unhappy.

Don't continue to University yet.
complete your Studies and find some job and when you could save some sufficient resources . apply university if possible.

why to keep on studying in a row when you have to find job and server afterwords.

Find a job and complete your University after a couple of years break.

This way you not only reimburse loan as well as gain practical exp that may give you chance to apply better institute in future.

All the best:)

Exactly, why dont u stop school for a couple of terms, work till u have sufficient to last u a couple of terms, u dont have to continue studying or going to school continuously. U can pause for a term or 2, work, make some money then continue yr studies once u have accumulated enough financially or reduce yr loan. By the way, its very normal and common to be in debt after u graduate, as this is what is happening to everyone who is attending uni or college. even those in the US, are experiencing the same situation, If u think its cheaper to go to school in the US, then why not! but if u plan to immigrate or stay in Canada after u graduate then better finish it in Canada as u will have better prospects of finding a job with a Canadian degree than a US one.

You should note that the OP can just stop studying and start work in Canada without an LMO from an employer and an approved work permit.
