Hi Everyone, I am planning to apply for Permanent Residency to Canada and wanted to know if it is really helpful to hire a representative for processing? Do the immigration consultants provide real help worth their fees? Does the CIC give priority to applications through immigration consultants? Is there any disadvantage to filing the application ourselves?

You don't need a representative. You can do it yourself. If you are really paranoid about filling out forms, have problems with english or something like that, it might be worth it but you can do it yourself easily. CIC does not give priority to applications done by consultants.

If you can read write and understand "English" you can do "your application" "yourself ". If you want to be represented through an immigration expert be sure you use a person who is legally authorised to do this. Be awrae of "Thugs".

A M.P is a Federal Member of Parliament,I have used them before to "pressure"CIC and Canadian embassies when they were maltreating a applicant,A MLA is a member of the Provincial legislature,MLA Member Legislative Assembly ,My boss is a MLA of BC.These are used to intervene in problems with PNP.Sorry for not making it clear.
