Salam,

My current employer in Pakistan is willing to bear my initial 3 months expenses in Canada. In this case do I still need to have required funds in my account and attach bank statement along with my application? Or a letter from my employer stating that they'll take care of my expenses in Canada would be sufficient. They'll deposit the required money in my account just before I fly for Canada.

You will still need it unless you have a job offer in Canada or you can ask you employer to deposit it before you submit your financials to CIC and explain them that company is paying the living cost for you.

One more thing that may be worth mentioning is, although my current company is not registered in Canada but I would be on current employer's payroll there in Canada. Does it make any difference and would be helpful regarding the settlement funds?

Send a letter to CHC along with full documents and the money should be transfered to your account stating that it is free of debt and any obligation. Your employer should state that this money is sanctioned to you and if you even leave your current employer then still the money will be with you.

You need show that full proof to CHC.

Well for FSW requirements if you are applying under 1 year continuous category then whether you have an employer who will sponsor you in Canada and still they do not have a registered office there then I don't think it will help as you will or have applied under a different category.

If it would have been that your employer is sending you to Canada to set up a representative office in Canada and then there are loads of legal formalities to be done which I would suggest you stay away from.

See, the funds need to be in your possession. Whether your friend gives you or anyone else to help you in immigration process, if you send bank account statement then the immigration office might become alert due to huge transaction suddenly. Technically it is not accepted but if you borrow it from anyone the I/O might again ask for proof of funds or can even ask for update on it
