Dear All,
Since yesterday evening I am in great stress due to probability of my Canadian PR application (which I am yet to submit) to be rejected due to the following reason, I am writing this email to get prompt appropriate suggestion from you in current scenario, I would really appreciate it.
I earned my Bachelors (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering from Pakistan. My batch was 2005 to 2008 but I was awarded a degree in March 21 2009, and from next month that is April 2009 I have been continuously working in the same profession (NOC 2131).
After BS Degree I took admission in the same university for MS studies (but I do not remember the date when I started, nor do I have any proof to make sure). This was a part time study I took classes after my office (I mentioned “part time” earlier while creating EE profile for the first time) The length of this program was about 2-1/2 years (10 subjects, 2 each in 5 semesters of 6 months). The award date on my degree is April 2014 (in Pakistan, normally degrees are not issued immediately), besides yesterday I found a “provisional certificate” which says I had done with my exams in June 2013.
As a first step when I sent my documents to Comparative Education Service (CES) for Educational Credential assessment (ECA), I entered tentative 2-1/2 years before the award date. I entered July-2011 to Dec-2013. At that time I did not consider it critical, later on I got my ECA done for “Two years MS in recognized university”, and eventually I got nomination from Ontario in Dec 2016.
I came to know that I can’t claim points for my MS Degree. Since nothing like “part time” is written on my degree/transcript, and it overlaps with my work experience (since I mentioned Dec 2013 in ECA form and the date on my degree and ECA is April 2014, and I was in Qatar since 2013).
In fact the tenure I mentioned in a form for ECA (to CES) are wrong tentative dates which overlap with my employment in Qatar (the date on my degree is April 2014, and since Oct 2013 I am in Qatar).
Now the problem is that, in “Personal History” section of the post ITA application the two activities (My MS in Pakistan and Employment in Qatar) overlap.
And I consider It misinterpretation if I change the dates in the eAPR which are contrary to the one I submitted for ECA.
Questions
Should I decline ITA? as misinterpretation may lead to ban for 5 years? I still have 60 more days to submit eAPR.
Is it appropriate to inform CES UoT regarding this blunder? (I don’t know how will they react)
If CES agrees to edit the database I understand that I will have to inform OINP, correct?
I don’t understand why I can’t claim points for my MS, because it was part time and overlap with my all three past employers?
What is wrong with getting degree late? In Pakistan its very normal. Actually I earned my MS before employment in Qatar, my provisional certificate also endorse the fact, and however the problem is mentioning the wrong tentative dates in ECA form.
Now in current scenario please suggest.
Kind Regards,
Saad
