If your ceremony is March 6 then you have a week to get the passport which can be obtained same day if needed. You'll get your ecert same day if you ask the clerk, then you can go get the passport. No need to reschedule if you're proactive about it.Just realized, I have travel plans from the 12th of March. I think they will ask us to cut the PR Card. Is there a way to request to postpone the oath ceremony?
Actually my flight is on the evening of 11th. It would be extremely tight and i do not wish to take that chance. I think rescheduling would be a better option. If your ceremony is March 6 then you have a week to get the passport which can be obtained same day if needed. Tight would be 72 hours, so I think you have plenty of time personally. You can email them back to reschedule, but I'd get this over with asap. They may reschedule you for months from now, or the week after. My friend (Calgary office) was 7 months.Actually my flight is on the evening of 11th. I mean how is that even possible? 6th is ceremony date, 8th & 9th are the weekend. I just have 10th and my flight is on the evening of 11th. I would like to try, but losing the trip is not an option for me actually.Tight would be 72 hours, so I think you have plenty of time personally. 7 months for the rescheduled oath ceremony? This is nuts.Tight would be 72 hours, so I think you have plenty of time personally. They make them on weekends, just google "same day passports" and get the info as you have lots of time to prep so you can just walk into the offices (booking an appt) and either walk out with a passport or go and collect the next day.I mean how is that even possible? 6th is ceremony date, 8th & 9th are the weekend. I understand what you are saying, but it would be very stressful. I guess it doesn't really affect me to wait another 6 months for a new oath ceremony. They make them on weekends, just google "same day passports" and get the info as you have lots of time to prep so you can just walk into the offices (booking an appt) and either walk out with a passport or go and collect the next day.
If they don't get it done you can leave Canada and someone can FedEx you the passport while you're away to come back.
As I said it could be a week after, but you're back of the queue for scheduling again, so there's no rush to get you there. It's a gamble you take.
It's up to you, of course.I understand what you are saying, but it would be very stressful. I guess it doesn't really affect me to wait another 6 months for a new oath ceremony.
So you also haven’t heard anything after AOR? When did you request ATIP? I’m still waiting for mine. Are you waiting to contact your MP since it hasn’t been 7/8 months yet?Received my ATIP Notes from IRCC. My ATIP Notes showing the following:
CLEARANCE REQUEST(S)
RCMP/CSIS:
- language and physical presence completed - October 29
- Test completed
- Pending Background and prohibition
- Last update in ATIP notes: October 29
- Assignment due date was around November last year. Does this mean my file has not been checked since October 29?
Usually if any file sent to RCMP/CSIS shows “Y” - but in my case it’s blank.
Can anyone please help me understand what is going with my file? Anyone with similar experience.
My AOR = Sept 2024
Email them now and ask about it. They may deny the request to reschedule if you get a grumpy clerk, just bare that in mind.I understand what you are saying, but it would be very stressful. I guess it doesn't really affect me to wait another 6 months for a new oath ceremony.
What time did you call? Always seems to be a high volume of calls for meI called IRCC today because mine (MTL office) has been stuck waiting for oath since Nov. Finally I got a more helpful agent who found it weird too, so the agent sent an inquiry about my application to the processing office. That's something at least.
Stay on and request the callback option. What time did you call? Always seems to be a high volume of calls for me
I saw the update in tracker. I will email them as soon as i receive the email request.Email them now and ask about it. They may deny the request to reschedule if you get a grumpy clerk, just bare that in mind.
