I see. I’ve ordered the entry and exit records in the meantime in case they return the application again but I’m not sure why they would because they have access to these entry and exit records if they request it and I’m sure they would receive it much quicker than If the application comes back again, I’ll submit it but if that fails, I will just have to wait close to 6 months to get the days as a PR. We shall see.

Update: I received AOR today so all good. This is for anyone who comes across the same issue I had. The letter of explanation and referring to passport stamps seems to have done the trick.

I had stated below for staying in US before moving to Canada.

Country of origin. Lived in United States of America for more than 183 days continuously before becoming Permanent resident of Canada. Police certificate submitted with PR application.

I visited US only for vacations totalling around 45 days in last 3 years. They were not consecutive days.

Then I got below PCC request for USA.

Police Certificate Request:
· You must provide a police certificate for each country or territory where you have been present for 183 days or more in a row (since the age of 18). If you cannot get a police certificate, please explain why. A police certificate or explanation for no certificate is required for your time spent in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
· You didn’t upload a police certificate (wrong or blank document uploaded).
To fix this issue
· Upload the correct police certificate

Not sure If I should have uploaded my old PCC or should have been more clear in my statement.

How were you able to maintain PR status if you were outside for 8 years?

I came back to Canada in 2021 then live and work for two years and apply for PR card. It’s 3 years now and I meet the RO of 3 out of 5 years. So now I will submit my citizenship.
