This morning my tracker account had an update. The last update was on October 31st and that was for medical exam completion. Today's update was about eligibility and it changed from "not started" to "in progress". Does anyone happen to know how long it normally takes for eligibility to be completed after it shows "in progress" in the tracker account?

However, there wasn't any change/update in my GCKey account. Only my tracker account got updated.

From threads in other chat groups...
If Eligibility shows "in progress" that means a case analyst has reviewed your file and has passed it to "FILE OFFICER" for final decision or review.
Best option here is to call IRCC and ask about your Eligibility is "Recommended Pass" or "Review Required" ?!.

Good Luck.

My eligibility showed as "Not Started" till October 9th! On October 10th it went straight to "Completed". It was never "In Progress" for me! Then on October 11th, background was completed but I got that update on October 14th! Better to call IRCC and ask at which stage is your application!

I'm really nervous at this point. I'm trying to calm down by telling myself that everything will happen in due time but that worrying feeling is always present in my mind.

I'm going to call IRCC next Monday and will update you guys here. Hopefully you guys will get some update soon. @Krsoman, what about your BIL? Did you receive it?

Don't worry.. Everything will be fine.

I haven't got BIL or any Biometrics update yet.
I called IRCC on Nov. 8th and Agent said that I have to wait only.

I will be very happy if my eligibility shows "completed" by the end of next week. I tried my best to make sure all my documents were flawless.

The reason behind my Biometrics getting late is my previous PR file.
I applied for CEC Inland in Nov.-2023. I got refusal in April-2024 due to missing documents for my Foreign experience. I did biometrics for that PR file in March-2024.
I don't know why system is not taking that biometric for this file also not giving me BIL for new Biometrics.

Also my file is with C.I.O at this moment. So it might take a while for my eligibility to complete.

Hello everyone,

I have a question. My wife and I completed our biometric tests at the Service Canada office in North Vancouver. The employee had difficulty capturing my wife’s fingerprints because she has very faint ones. After two days, my biometric status on the tracker was updated to "complete," but hers has remained "in progress" for the past 22 days. Does anyone have any insights or advice on this situation?

In my opinion there is no need to worry. It will automatically get completed when your Final Decision is ready. Meanwhile you can call IRCC and ask agent about it.

As per GCMS notes, job responsibilities in my Foreign work experience documents was not matching with IRCC's NOC guidelines. And I was a bit unlucky that Officer didn't requested me for any ADR.
Case analyst put "REVIEW REQUIRED" in my eligibility section and File Officer directly refused my case saying that job description is not matching with claimed NOC code.

I requested my Foreign employer about this incident and then he provided me a new document which has matching responsibilities with NOC guidelines.

But still I am so much stressed about my PR process. Because I spoke with couple of lawyers and consultants and they said that if you got refusal for PR and you apply again then your file mainly operates at C.I.O and they check & verify everything very strictly.

I don't mean to sound negative but I faced similar situation when I first applied to come to Canada in 2021. I have a skin condition due to which my fingerprints are not so legible. Back in 2021, it was worse. That is why I had to give Biometrics twice. Within a week of providing Biometrics for the first time, I received an update in my GCKey account saying I had to give Biometrics again. Unfortunately, my fingerprints were not legible the second time too. So, I emailed IRCC to inform about my medical condition and I also attached a doctor's note and a certificate from a civil surgeon where they briefly explained my medical condition. After that, I was not asked to give Biometrics again so I guess they understood and considered my situation.

While you are waiting for her biometric status to update, I would suggest getting a note from one of the IRCC panel physicians just in case your wife is asked to provide Biometrics again. In this way, you will save time by being prepared for the worst case scenario. Also, you guys can try applying healing hand creams for extremely dry and cracked hands. That's what I did this time before appearing for Biometrics.

Hopefully, everything will get sorted out quickly! Fingers Crossed!
