September 2023 Spousal Sponsorship- Outland- No Update

Hi everyone,

I sponsored my husband in Sep 2023 and received AOR in November 2023. After that, there has been no update on the application. When I call IRCC they say the application is in process and is timely. Furthermore, the review of eligibility has not started. This is an Outland Sponsorship. Any tips/recommendations on why the delay or what can I do on my end to actually know the reason of delay? I have also filed Access to Information last month but nothing on that end as well. Thanks in advance!

So that makes it sound like IRCC has concerns about your eligibility as a sponsor. Do you know why?

Ah I wonder why it takes this long hmm. As of August 2024, the current processing time for GCMS Notes is 30 days. I think you will get that soon. https://gcms-notes.ca/

Based on your past posts, it looks like you were out of compliance with RO at the time you submitted the application to sponsor your spouse. That is likely the issue. You'll have to see what your GCMS notes say.

For the eligibility- doesn’t the form while submitting asks two questions:

are you a PR and are you in Canada.

I didn’t see anywhere in the form where it says RO compliance while submitting the application. Not sure though

I don't think they put everything down in the form.
You can't really do much at this point. Apply for GCMS, wait and see.
