Hi all,
I just have a question regarding Language proof requirements. I have already submitted my application on Sept 22, 2021. I have done Masters in Computer Science from India and currently working here in Canada as an IT professional. I didn't have any kind of language proof test done in past. I asked CIC if it is okay if I submit my Indian Degrees (certificates are in English), WES evaluation for my degrees, and my Canadian job letter. I didn't get a very strong answer from them.
My question is that if someone has experience with a similar situation. Where they don't have an Ielets certificate etc. and neither their foreign education certificates says that the study was done in English. Though it is very much understood that Computer Science must have been studied in the English language rather than regional language.
Please share your views.
Thanks in advance

Hi All,
Can someone comment on it?
Thanks,

The answer from the website.
As long as you did your study in English abroad you can send a copy of your diploma.
I hope that help

Examples of the types of language evidence that can be submitted include:

  1. You attended or are currently attending a secondary or post-secondary education program in English or French, either in Canada or abroad, including:
    1. A degree, diploma, certificate or official transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary education program showing you studied in English or French, in Canada or abroad.
    2. If the original document is in a different language, include:
      • a letter from the school showing that the language of instruction was in English or French along with (including an official translation of the original document, if needed)

Yes, I know but my main concern is with point number 1.
As my certificate doesn't show anywhere that the study was in English. (Though the certificate is in English). I am not sure if they will accept it like this. Usually certificates never say that the study was in the English language. I am not sure how people dealt with it who studies abroad.
Thanks

Can one leave the country due to job change situation after getting the AOR?
I'm in the same boat where I got my AOR and will have to leave the country due to job situation. To ease my mind I booked a consultation with an immigration lawyer to review my case. Basically
1. Make sure you will still be able to meet residency requirement while abroad.
2. Take your PR card with you and check the expiry date. You might want to renew it before you leave if it's about to expire. Current wait times for a PR card I understand to be 6 months.

Leaving shouldn't be an issue as situations change. Nowadays you don't have to show intent to reside in Canada once you get citizenship. Hope that helps.

I've submitted my application online Sep 20 and received Sep 20, haven't gotten my AOR yet though seeing folks after me get theirs. Definitely got some FOMO going on here. Do we know if applications are processed as they're received by date, or they a bit scattershot in how they get processed? Starting to get a little bit worried.
