I'm in the same boat where I got my AOR and will have to leave the country due to job situation. To ease my mind I booked a consultation with an immigration lawyer to review my case. Basically
1. Make sure you will still be able to meet residency requirement while abroad.
2. Take your PR card with you and check the expiry date. You might want to renew it before you leave if it's about to expire. Current wait times for a PR card I understand to be 6 months.

Leaving shouldn't be an issue as situations change. Nowadays you don't have to show intent to reside in Canada once you get citizenship. Hope that helps.

What did you learn from the lawyer? I have had a couple of consultation with different lawyers with opposing views. The CIC website does say what you mentioned but they law is very dependent on the officers interpreting it and view the case.

What did you learn from the lawyer? I have had a couple of consultation with different lawyers with opposing views. The CIC website does say what you mentioned but they law is very dependent on the officers interpreting it and view the case.

She basically said it shouldn't be an issue since I am eligible and fulfilled the requirements. Asked to take PR card with me before I leave and check expiry date. She did say to hire a lawyer when invited for the interview so they could coach me on how to answer. Advised only to answer what you've been asked, no additional long stories

you don't receive Discover Canada book but can download a PDF or get a hard copy mailed to you free of cost
