Guys, on a positive note the processing time has gone down to 23 months. Anyone got updates this week?
No for me. I just called IRCC and got to know that my last update on file was in May 2022 that's when I passed criminality. Nothing on security, still pending and I need to pass that first before everything else can be started so basically nothing new.

Good day all , any Ottawa applicant still waiting for oath ?
My timeline for a single paper application :

- Application sent : September 2021
-AOR : December 2021
- background completed : may 2022
- test completed : august 2022
- everything completed except oath : October 2022
- Oath : not started

Ottawa no oaths now! Almost stop every thing

I see they have a in-person scheduled for 17th Feb. Not sure whom they have called as none from the Google sheet have Oath scheduled on that date.
Thank you for you answer . I’m not sure why they are not scheduling any more ceremonies like other offices such as Vancouver , Mississauga … is there any particular known reason ?

There is no logic to how the applications are processed, and its not just 1 office. They all seem to be so random.

Hi do any of the following apply to your situation: foreign travel, self employment or unemployment, test taken outside Canada or foreign travel after application, address mismatch between provincial ID and application, low income and/low tax returns/benefit claims of any kind (EI/CERB etc).

These are some of the red flags which can cause doubts about residency.

Otherwise can only blame IRCC incompetence for the delay.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. the following applies
- Self employment
- foreign travel before application
- it is a family application and our income is not low nor do we have low tax returns

Foreign travel combined with either unemployment or Self-employment is a major red flag unfortunately, as they like to use employment to help verify residency. In the worst case, they will ask for more proof. In most cases, it will just take time. Don't know if this is the cause for your delay, but it is a possibility.

Have you tried applying for case notes from IRCC or CBSA?
