Even if you update them, they will take about two to three months to read your notice for them. I have many friend got the ceremoney invitation a week or two after they flew outside Canada. One of them got it with very short notice (6 days) and it was two days before she was supposed to fly back. She had to pay 3000 $ to change her flight and had her ceremoney in the connection airport.

It's so bad to be waiting with no specific time frame. I want to fly too but I can't plan it until I hear back from IRCC
Hi
I understand what you are saying but my point is that what is the rule? Do we have to update them regardless of how much time they take to update my file or there is no such rule?
If you or anyone else knows for sure then please share.
Thanks

Hi everyone,
Is there certain information people are selecting to get into the Ecas system? I usually check my updates on the usual tracker- but despite all my attempts to check my file on Ecas- it always returns that they are unable to verify me. Just wondered if there is certain details folks are entering.

Also- all my statuses changed to completed on Jul 27 and I had a ghost update on Aug 5 however no oath activity yet. Application on tracker still says ‘in progress’
TIA
I guess if you have applied online, it doesn't show up on the ECAS. I am not sure if there is any other way to check the status if you have applied online other than the tracker.

you are right. ecas is for paper applicants and it shows very few status. The new tracker actually has more info and both of them gets updated at same timelines

Any particular reason you want to look at ecas? @kaspersky1

Im pretty sure you will get an update soon. Mine got updated July 29 and I got an update yesterday from NB. It depends on your local office. which is the secondary processing centre. hope this helps

Hi, I travelled for 1 month outside of Canada after my citizenship test. I don't know if there is any rule but I did not inform IRCC about the travel. I came back to Canada more than 2 months ago and still waiting for Language, prohibitions, physical presence to move to be completed. The processing time is unpredictable. Some applicants are getting oath invitation fast and some are not.

Rule is anything above 2 weeks you need to notify.

I travelled to my home country for 9 weeks but I didn't informed (My stuatus before travel is Test completed, my status after coming back is L,P,P completed awaiting Oath).

If you get Oath invitation just come back or prepare to inform that you are outside Canada.
You can make your own call my friend. Hope it helps.

Hi everyone, I applied online application on SEptember 2021, received AOR December 14,2021. I have passed the test and completed status on June 14,2022. I have only sent web form on June for the address update, nothing else change. I am waiting for LAnguage, Physical, Prohibitions they are in progress. How long from this point you received all completed and excepting the invitation to Oath? Thank you

Hi all,
I have a question regarding traveling out of the country for about a month. I have completed the test and now waiting for Language skills, Physical presence, and Prohibitions to be cleared. No oath has been scheduled for now. Do I need to update IRCC about my travel plans? If I need to then how should I do so? Anyone, please let me know.
Thanks
My understanding is there is a wait time of about 3~4 months (at times 5+ months) after you complete your test and get an invite for OATH. There is no such rule to inform IRCC about your absence from Canada at any stage after you have submitted your citizenship application. The rule here is you cannot take OATH outside of Canadian boundary. So if you think you will be able to come back in time before your OATH, go ahead with your trip and do not worry about informing IRCC. In case if your OATH is scheduled at a time when you are outside Canada, you can always reply back saying you are out of Country and let them know of date of travel back to Canada and they can reschedule [on of my friend did the same back in Jan 2022].

Please note, all the above is just my understanding of the situation, just to help you make a informed decision.

thanks- this helps as I was not aware Ecas was solely for paper applicants. I was seeing all the updates on the forum around Ecas showing ‘decision made’ statuses and thought I may be able to check mine on Ecas since I have been waiting for 4+ weeks since language/presence etc went to ‘completed’ but the oath is still not started.

thanks again!

I think you're not aware of the 2 week rule. I wasn't aware of this either. Thanks to @Lucky2016 for bringing this to our attention

I got it. But would it be a problem if I get the oath date while I am away? Wouldn't they say why I didn't tell them about my absense? Do we know if this happened to anyone?
Thanks

Hi all,

Online applicant
AOR: 14 December 2021
Background check complete: 12 June 2022
Citizenship Test Request: 16 June 2022
Test complete: 27 June 2022
Language, Physical and Prohibition: In progress
Ceremony: not started.
Office: Vancouver

Got a ghost update on 28th July 2022 but nothing has changed so far. No email, no online update. Anyone know what might be the ghost update for?

I thought it will not be a problem and so I didnot infomed.
Another reason for me not informing is they may ask for additional documentation (Stamping pages post my return and until then they may stop my processing) etc.
I would consider informing only if I plan to stay more than 6 months (That will impact PCC requirements)

All these are my assumptions or calculations. So you know what to do. Take the best call.
