Guys, something unbelievable just happened!

I just got a call from Mississauga IRCC office a few minutes back and I was told they approved my application based on my urgent processing request and I am being scheduled for oath on August 23rd. She said I'll receive an email in 2 business days!

Update :

So, looks like IRCC employees are hard at work after business hours. I got the call at 8:25 PM which isn't standard business hours. Looks like IRCC is trying to speed up and move applications to decrease backlog.

Query about attending virtual oath
If one of the family member is out of station (for instance, is studying in another city). Can he attend online oath from his location or he needs to be present with other family members in the city he has applied for Citizenship?

All members taking oath and becoming Citizens MUST be physically present in Canada for oath.

Once you receive the oath email, follow the instructions here :

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ces/coronavirus-covid19/citizenship.html#oath

You need to be in Canada to take the Oath of Citizenship. If you get your invitation while you’re outside Canada, reply to the invitation email to explain your situation in detail.

In your email

  • put “Outside Canada – Oath of Citizenship” in the subject line
  • In the body of your message, include
    • your full name
    • your application number
    • a detailed explanation of your situation
We’ll contact you with your next steps after we receive your email.

The same happened to me and to several other people. See the comments below.

What I did was this => I submitted a webform request and sent the passport pages again and requested them to attach it to my file. You can probably do the same.
Thanks Raj..Appreciate your quick reply always..anyways congratulations on your new update

Hi everyone, I'm a septemeber 2020 applicant, patiently (or not so patiently) waiting to hear more.

Here's my details:

Location: Toronto (processing by Scarborough office)
App type: Single
Physical presence days: 1,627.5
App sent: Sep 9, 2020
App delivered: Sep 14, 2020
AOR: Dec 7, 2020
In process: March 22, 2021
Test invite: June 9, 2021
Test date: June 17, 2021 (updated in ecas on june 19)

Language/physical presence/ prohibitions all still in progress. I'm having flashbacks to my painfully long PR process (I was caught up in the 2013/4 backlog... sigh)
I caught up in that PR. 2 years to get medical exam and total 5 years to get PR done.

I was asking about another city within Canada because it is a family application, can one member be away and taking oath from somewhere else?
