I requested my GCMS notes last week, but my wife raised a good question, what good is it for?

Say for example that my notes come back and they’ve done almost nothing, what could I possibly do?

Forgive my ignorance, but don’t GCMS notes seem like an exercise in seeing what has been done, and nothing else?

If your application is pretty straightforward and your are supremely confident about it i.e. got all the documents in the right format and double and triple checked all the details, then yes they are not very useful since it is just a waiting game. However some applications are more complex than the others (e.g. your employer might have refused to give the work experience letter in the right format, so you might have had to make do with whatever your employer gave you + an LOE) and some people may want the peace of mind that the documents they submitted were in the right format and they didn't unintentionally miss something. If at least 4-5 months have passed since your AOR, then there is a good chance that your eligibility has been reviewed by a case processing agent at the very least (and maybe criminality is done too). If there is something wrong with your documents, the case processing agent would have flagged it by this point, so you will be able to take corrective measures ASAP. If everything is good and the agent has passed your eligibility, then you can have peace of mind that you have (almost) crossed the biggest hurdle. However there are cases where no progress is made on the application even after 6 months, in that case yeah it is useless.

Review Required on Client Info.. check your information related to travel history, personnel history and yes/no questions related military service etc.. if there are gaps in the period for personnel history, you may receive ADR to resubmit the client details form.

I got a request today for Medicals for my spouse in India. It was already uploaded upfront on September 19, 2020 and it was passed too.

Only Security stage was left till yesterday, and today morning I received a Medical Request (IMM 1017E) again for my spouse in India. Is this normal?

Also, where should it be uploaded as I don't see any update inside the submitted documents to upload the new document?

@legalfalcon ... All the details are in my signature...AOR September 19, 2020.

The medicals are valid for 1 year. So your meds would expire around sept 2021. IRCC would like to have meds valid when a decision is made, so that when a COPR / PR visa is issued, it has the maximum duration, since the PR visa / COPR cannot be issued beyond the validity of the medicals.

If you do not have an upload tab in your MyCIC account, you can send the upfront sheet via webform. https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

Thank you so much for your quick reply.

They didn’t ask for my medicals as I also did it in August 2020. Is it because I am in Canada?

I got another ghost update yesterday. Nothing changed in my profile. This is my fourth one. I got the first one on 22 April 2021. After the first one, my ADR (PCC) changed from "The additional document has been uploaded" (it had been like that for 4 months) to "Not applicable" and the background check changed to "Your application is in progress"; after the second ghost update (27 April 2021), it reverted back to "We are processing your background check". The third ghost update was on 16 May 2021 and there was no change on my profile.

It seems like they are working on FSW-O applications.

On page 3 you will bee more details about date and time. The most recent activity will show where your application is at.

All applications will have a primary office, which is based on your country of residence and is responsible for your file, including issuing you a COPR / PRV if you are out side Canada.

During the processing the application can be transferred to multiple offices due to work load distribution, agency specilaizaton etc.
