Hey guys I just called IRCC and got the below status :
AOR : 16th Oct
FSW Outland
COR : India
Medicals Passed/BIL - 27th Nov 2020
Eligibility : Passed on 21st Dec 2020
VO : Sydney , NS
Criminality : In progress
BG : In progress
They said they can't further process our application as to complete criminality and security under Background Check they will need our fingerprints.
Once we give our fingerprints then they will further process our application.
But I didn't understand why they couldn't complete the criminality , and why they need fingerprints to complete the criminality. Isn't PCC used to complete criminality. ???
I thought I have seen applications getting criminality passed without giving biometrics?

Did you got any Ghost update for Eligibility passed? Regarding your question, biometric and PCC is needed for Criminality. Check in forum, legalfalcon explained it clearly in lot of places.
Similar situation here (Eligibility Passed, Criminality In Progress), but security has not been initiated yet. Can anyone confirm if biometrics are needed to even initiate Security?
Since the VFS offices in India are planning to prioritize biometrics for Study Permits and Family Class applications in January too, I suspect we won't be able to secure appointments for biometrics until March or later because of all the backlog. I saw that someone went to Dubai to give their biometrics. I might do that too in January.

Yes , I will be going to Dubai to give the biometrics in 2 weeks. Most of the folks said that yes biometrics are required for initiating Security but one person confirmed that her security was completed even before she could give the biometrics. Only Crimanality continued to be in progress until they got the biometrics.
Nothing like that. You may call IRCC at any time. But it makes more sense to call IRCC once you received medical passed and the BIL

PCC was used and is still used, however after the introduction of biometrics, your fingerprints are also run though the system to check for any inadmissibility and this is also shared with other partner agencies.
Sharing information
When assessing your application, we’ll share your fingerprints and photo with the Canada Border Services Agency and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). We may also share it with other law enforcement agencies in Canada to enforce any Canadian or provincial law, as well as with Canadian government institutions or foreign governments according to Canada’s privacy laws.
Your fingerprints and photo will also be shared with the U.S., the United Kingdom (U.K.), Australia and New Zealand in a way that respects:
- privacy laws
- civil liberties
- human rights (including the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms)

- security, criminality, background: not started yet.
Any input or comments are welcome. What do you think? I believe they are short handed. So technically since oct 19 till now, we have no progress or not reflected for the call center staff.

Agreed. Same boat. Ottawa office is processing CERB and also seems like people from Nigeria are getting PPR and also people in PNP and FSW-O nothing for CEC which I though would have been easier for the government as we are already in Canada. Not sure what kind of strategy they are using. Only thing is left is just wait and watch.
