Hi. AOR2 works in two ways...(i) you will get an e-mail from the local visa office acknowledging that your file has been received. This usually happens a week or so after sponsor receives e-mail that file is transferred. (ii) in the PA's ECAS, the status changes to "In Process", in stead of the "Application Received". So if the PA's ECAS says something along the lines of "We started processing your application..." that is AOR2. You can send me a message if not clear

Im not sure if that is correct. In my husband's case, in Ecas on PA side, it states in process and has since I received SA. medicals were passed January 20th and it has been silence since then. I also checked ecas again to bee 100% certain and it only states on Sponsor side Decision made and on PA side in process, yet it only shows three points at the top: When app was received, that they sent Medical instructions and that they received the medicals.Hi. If the PA's ECAS states "We started processing your application" it is AOR2. Lots of people have confirmed that they never received an e-mail stating the above. Before AOR2, PA's ECAS will say "We received your application". At least that is what I have gathered...
Same here. It depends from country to country as well. In my case, we are both outside of Canada. So we have AOR2 and background check etc. but no medical request. From what I have researched, our local visa office requests medicals a month before requesting passports. It is crazy.
