@laport2018 Has your background check started yet?
Urgh no !!! Lol eligibility still in progress
However in my notes it shows a few things pointing to the fact that the background has started , I don’t know anymore what’s happening . How about you ? Does it say it started ?

Lol, mine still hasn't started either, eligibility still in progress. Before the transfer an agent told me they were looking at the scheduling which I assume is Schedule A...that's about the closest I've gotten to background check:rolleyes:
I really hope they've actually started something but are just too lazy to update online lol.

They are probably doing the security checks , I noticed in my notes they omitted a few pages and after looking up the sections of the privacy act I did see that they relate to background and security checks. (They can’t share that )
I honestly think the gckey is never 100% accurate
Patiently waiting , sort of haha .

WYWH Thanks my dear..
Guess you are right.. Just have to wait patiently. My background check is in progress since March 5th 2019...Probably because I qualified and worked as a doctor in the UK for 10 plus years..They need to verify all that I suppose. Might be around the corner like you said... Fingers crossed and with God s grace, hope to hear something positive soon .
thank you for the support and good luck with your new life in CANADA...God bless!!!
The good thing is that your BCG is in progress. It is the very last stage, so PPR could come any day now! Keeping my fingers crossed that yours doesn't last much longer. :)
And thank you for the kind wishes... it is my husband who is a PR. He just picked up his COPR today from a local VAC and we are good to go.
We will be reunited in 10 days. So excited and so very grateful for this!! :) All the best once again!

Thank you once again for your wishes dear. How sweet.. I know the frustrations of staying away from your spouse.
If not for FB messenger would have been a lot worse but nothing like being together...
Really Happy for you and all the best in your life..

@ruanp28 Congrats again! That was fast. We are expecting our COPR to arrive by the end of this week as well. I want to make sure all is in order before I book my husband's flight. :) I see on GCKey that COPR was issued today, so it is just a matter of sending it back to his local VAC, where he will pick it up. When you land, you will show your COPR to a CBSA officer, of course and they will send you to another counter or office where you will also wait your turn to speak to another officer. They might just ask you simple questions, like which address you will live at, but it is not an official interview. Make sure you have your Declaration card on you and also a List of personal belongings you are bringing with you + a list of goods you might bring later on, if anything, so you don't have to pay duties/taxes on them.
The BSF186 is the main form, but has only 8 lines. The BSF186A is used if you want more than 8 lines.
Make 2 copies of each set. One for yourself, and one for CBSA.
BSF186 is the same for goods accompanying and goods to follow. There is a checkbox to distinguish the two.
Good luck with everything! :)

@sdharan19 Sorry for my very late response! We had 17 days between Pre-arrival and DM (PPR on the same day), so I guess that is how long the BGC took, although, in our case, as well as several others that I have seen, BGC was showing as "in process" since the very start (AOR1, which is when app was linked on GCKey) There is no rule on how long BGC may take for each applicant...depends on many factors (travel history, countries lived in, military service, association with any organizations, criminal record etc) Hang in there, good things are coming! :)
Thank you so much :) And congrats on your COPR! I was wondering something, recent changes and opportunities have made us decide to move to Calgary in stead of Toronto. So we will be landing in Toronto and visit our friends for a few days, then jet off to Calgary. My COPR says that I plan to stay in Mississauga (this is where we initially intended to stay when we applied, but life happens). IS that fine or can I just tell the officer that our situation has changed and we are moving to Calgary? We did not provide an address in the application so if the border agent asks me my address I can just give the Calgary address (we will have a place before leaving).

They will ask you for the address where IRCC should send the PR card, you can provide the new address (in Calgary). It might take up to or more than 2 months to get your PR Card, so can even call IRCC and change the address for PR card delivery.

Thanks @ruanp28 ! Yes, the post above is correct. You can just give the officer the address you will be staying at, so that they can send your PR card there. That's all that matters to them. Wish you the best of luck! :)
