Hi,

I read Discover Canada thoroughly and took practice tests.
You can find a handful of them in the following link.

Good Luck!

Ive done my test in March 2019 and I was asked to do fingerprints in January 2019. My husband wasn't asked for fingerprints, however after the test he was asked for a Police Clearance from our home country in April 2019.

Why was he asked for Police Clearance from your home country ? did he live there more than 183 days at a time during the eligibility period ?

No weve lived here for past 7 years, but we took some trips, but in total wouldnt add to 180 days out of country, so im unsure as to why he was asked for it? It only took a week to get as I had called the Irish police station and told them the urgency of my request. Submitted 2 weeks ago, so its just a waiting game and im not very patient!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm located in Montreal, and it has been almost 3 months that I've passed the test (and ECAS updated). Since then, radio silence.

I've contacted the IRCC to advice about my inavailability for around 3 weeks in the summer, to avoid having my oath ceremony in that time. He told me that I have to send a mail to Sydney's office, explaining this. That's what I've done this week.

Can someone please explain to me what could be the next steps for me? Will they call me or send me an email, or even to do this, they may take weeks (months)?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there!

I'm also waiting for the oath taking. I passed my exam last February and my ecas was changed after 2 days. Until now, there's no update from them. It's very frustrating.

Not to discourage you guys but probably they’re still running some background and security checks. Lately, there have been posts in this forum about applicants who were scheduled to take oath but just a couple days before oath, their oath taking was cancelled and they were told to wait for more instructions.

Good luck to all of us.

Two Montreal applications got oath yesterday. Keep an eye out for the other thread "Montreal - DM to Oath? Anyone have up-to-date timeline?".
