If you are going out of Canada for more than 2 weeks in a row then you MUST inform IRCC about your travels. It is regardless of whether it will delay your application or your intention to come back on short notice to take the test or oath. Good luck!

I am currently out of country after taking the test and yes you should definitely inform IRCC. I had to come back to see my mother who had the hip replacement
surgery. Anyway, I don’t think that informing delays anything. The officer even called me on the phone before sending the form to request additional docs (while I’m out of Canada).

I’d like to suggest that you have your Canadian mobile number always ready and available even when you’re out of Canada. Fido has this wifi calling feature and it allows me to take and make phone calls to and from any Canadian number as long as I have wifi connection. Because it’s very important and that the citizenship office can call you any time.

Thanks for the information. Though one is not required to stay in Canada after submitting the application IRCC needs to be kept informed about any absences longer than 2 weeks.

I took my test on Feb 15 and now I’m asked to provide additional documents including French class attendance records etc.

What else did they ask when you say "etc"? Did you attach any proof of English /French with the application? I attached my IELTS score card that I used for my PR back in 2014 but I sent a notarized copy now since I had to send one of the originals with the PR application back then.

Hi,

Please update;

Test invite: 11 Feb 2019
Test: 2nd March 20/20
Dm: 3rd March
Oath: TBD

I originally applied in July 2018 however my application was returned due to incomplete SIN number and incorrect photo size. Wasn’t until September that i resent. Lady interviewing me seemed to think that I should get my oath by July as that was the date signed originally. Any others with returned applications told this?

Thanks

They asked me all official education reports which include French class attendance , bank statements , health claim summary and pay stubs . That’s all.

Yea I provided the proof of language by sending the diplomas (including the comparative evaluation done in Quebec from the degree that I got in the US) but they want to see transcripts (aka) official education records of schools that I attended in Canada for the relevant period.

They asked me the documents 2 weeks after the test. I took the test in English and passed with 20/20.

A couple days after my test, I had to leave Canada to see my mother who had the hip replacement surgery . So I emailed to IRCC about that with the scanned copy of my airline ticket. Just the day after sending email, IRCC sent me the acknowledgement of receipt of airline ticket and told me that they forwarded it to the corresponding office.

2 weeks later, the officer who also interviewed me on the test day, called me on the phone. Luckily, thanks to Fido , I was able to pick up the phone with wifi. The officer told me she’d be sending me an email and so she did send me an email requesting the additional documents.

Hello there, I'm on the same boat pretty much. I think Montreal's slowing down for some reason.

My IP was late december and I'm still waiting for my text invite. Finger crossed that we will have news soon :)

That's a long wait just for test. Montreal is pretty slow and erratic. Has anyone applied for GCMS notes after test?
