I am currently out of country after taking the test and yes you should definitely inform IRCC. I had to come back to see my mother who had the hip replacementIf you are going out of Canada for more than 2 weeks in a row then you MUST inform IRCC about your travels. It is regardless of whether it will delay your application or your intention to come back on short notice to take the test or oath. Good luck!
surgery. Anyway, I don’t think that informing delays anything. The officer even called me on the phone before sending the form to request additional docs (while I’m out of Canada).
I’d like to suggest that you have your Canadian mobile number always ready and available even when you’re out of Canada. Fido has this wifi calling feature and it allows me to take and make phone calls to and from any Canadian number as long as I have wifi connection. Because it’s very important and that the citizenship office can call you any time.
