Did anybody tried applying visitor visa for your spouse along sponship??
many have tried, historically the odds have been minimal, but i've seen a few trv's granted here even if the spouse doesn't work. we were told by the visa office that the odd's in our case was 50/50 if we prove that the sponsorship is processing, we'll test those odds soon. But most issuers are much less likely to issue a trv to a spouse because you aren't a true visitor.

Do you have any idea how long does it take ideally??
If your spouse can get a TRV, obviously, this is the fast way that she/he can come to Canada. But your spouse needs to demonstrate a very strong tie to his/her home country to be able to get TRV, since at the same time you also file a spousal sponsorship. If by talking how long the spousal sponsorship will get approved, it really depends on each individual cases and the VO that the case will be transferred to. It could be anywhere from 6 months to over 12 months.
