also, wondering what we are all going to do to stay sane now that we are all heading into the long dark of waiting months without expecting to hear much...i feel twitchy

aaaaaand from digging on this forum it looks like Ottawa VO is taking about 2 months to start the background check (on straight forward apps)...so I think my next land mark might be seeing that started around xmas in myCIC. Here's hoping...

I wish ecas and Cic would update on mine. I have in writing that I have been approved to sponsor, the letter also states that the application has been forwarded to Ottawa. My eligibility still says in progress as well as my husbands application says in progress. Nothing has changed in either screen since I linked my account and was able to log onto ecas. The only dates in there are they received the application on September 26 and started processing it on October 20th. The CIC agent said I was approved on the 25th and the file was sent. Am I missing something?

Not in a dissimilar boat than you are, except without a letter. We were told earlier this week (Tuesday, I think) that my husband had been approved as a sponsor "sometime within the last few days." MyCIC changed on Monday to showing Review of Eligibility as "Review in Progress" and Background Check went from "Not needed at this time" to "Not started." I was finally able to access ECAS last night for the first time but it still shows In Process on the Sponsor side and Application Received on the PA side. I don't think we're missing anything, except that they aren't always kept up to date or accurate.

My husband confirmed that his e-mail and mailing addresses were correct while on the phone. If we don't get the e-mail within the next few days I'm going to have him call again because he's going to be crossing the border in several weeks to visit me from and we want to have that to show the U.S. border guards as proof that we're working on immigrating the other direction and that he has no desire to stay in the U.S. illegally. I'd also love to have an actual date to put in the spreadsheet for SA.

Hi everyone. Just checked my ECAS again (as I do daily morning and night) because I am still unable to link myCIC account to my application. Also, only received 1 email so far letting us know that it was received.
Code:
This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2016/09/15 on behalf of the following member(s): etc..

A few days ago, my husband's column (Applicant) was in process and only had 2 items indicated, that it has been received and medical was received. Today, #2 now indicates that they have started processing his papers Nov 2, even if it was changed to in process on Oct 28. Any idea what this means? A little lost because no emails yet.

What is AOR2?

Thank you.

It means they have sent his application to his VO and have looked at the file. AOR2 is the acknowledgement of receipt from the VO. You probably won't get an actual email about this as most VOs do not send AOR2. You can basically assume that 3rd line saying his application is processing is the AOR2.

Whats does the ECAS PR in Process status mean ? is it before we get AOR2?

In process means they have received the application at the VO and have looked at the file. This forum seems to consider AOR2 as being when the third line appears on the sponsored person's side in ECAS which will say that the file is now being processed. Most VOs don't send out an email for AOR2 so that third line is the only indication. Sometimes the third line and the "in process" status happen at the same time. For me, my status changed to "in process" about a week before the third line appeared. As far as I know, it's normal for it to change before the third line appears. Expect your third line in one to two weeks (estimated).

(Sorry for the repeating information in this response, I just wanted to be clear in both answers.)

Hey guys, does anyone know anything about PCC and where it needs to be sent? I know they need the original. I'm sponsoring my wife who lives in Riyadh and the VO handling the case is Rome.

Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

Just received AOR2 from NDVO. Seems like NDVO is having human errors which is understandable but not reassuring.
My wife had applied for a work permit visa through her employer in Feb 2016 but the plans did not materialize. NDVO sent the AOR2 to the employer's designated consultant's email address which is not mentioned anywhere in our application. Thankfully! the consultant forwarded the AOR2. I just submitted a case specific query form asking NDVO to correct the email address. The recipient is not even our representative. I think system chose the email linked to her UCI number from her work permit application. Now i am worried about missing future correspondence :(

Hi everyone

This morning e-CAS PA side changed to "In Process". :D Sponsor side still says "In Process" with 4th line added couple of days ago as "Decision made". Go figure my MyCIC still has Xf number :) :) :) and the status is unavailable and it says to try again later. :P Definitely something not right with my myCIC. I emailed them last week via technical issues link and they replied saying my e-CAS is functional even though in my email I clearly mentioned I am having issues with myCIC not e-CAS. Emailed them again and see what happens. As long as e-CAS is updated I am fine even though myCIC is more comprehensive. Hopefully, it would be up and running soon.

Wish everyone a speedy process. ;)

Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone else is having no luck signing into ECAS. I received SA about 2 weeks ago, and myCIC is working fine. Just cant access ECAS still. Anyone else? My VO is accra btw. Thanks.

It should be available to you by now.. I've been able to check ECAS since about a week after AOR1. What information are you trying with? I use my own (sponsor)...

Actually I just tried it again and it worked, but i had to use the wrong date for my birthday. Imagine that. My birth date is 31st, and I am 100 percent sure I entered that correctly in the forms(I kept copies), but I had to enter 30th as my birthdate, before it worked. They also mis-spelled my name in their correspondence to me. tsk tsk, CIC!

I'm glad you got it working! What does your Principal Applicant side say, In Process or Application Received?
