Finally got around to doing the fingerprints ;D, taken on the 30th of December. told me it takes 1-2 weeks for it to process and they will send the results directly to them.

Happy new year !!

I am planning to apply for Citizenship application (family) in January. Our passports were expire in Sept 2016 but we never get renewed since Sept. We traveled one time in 2015 for a month on that passport.

Can you please confirm that does we require the valid (back home) passport for Citizenship application?

Hi,

It is not a requirement however good to have a valid passport for citizenship application. In the forms there is a section where you have to specify that reason why were you without a valid passport.

As of January 1, 2017, a special citizenship certificate is given out to commemorate Canada’s 150th anniversary. Looking forward to receiving new citizenship certificate!

I received the Oath letter today dated Dec 28th for January 24th.
Please update sheet, thank you all for your continuous support in this journey, and good luck to all
FYI Ecas still not updated and doesn't indicate that the oath letter was sent out, only DM for few weeks with no other details.
