Congrats. we both have almost identical time line. Did you take your test in Mississauga or Hamilton office? My DM will be delayed, still waiting for fingerprint letter coming from Toronto. This is going to delay my whole process.LeEmperor said:Decision made :-*

Don`t worry i got the same request on 8th November. I went in on 9th all was good and RCMP sent me my fingerprints on 14th and I mailed it to my office in Montreal on 15th. They got it on 16th. Basically it took a week for the process, i called RCMP call centre it is preferred that you receive and send it marking you application number and other info on the envelope because when they send it just shows your name on envelope thats it, takes time to classify the mail. I sent it myself but did not open the envelope as advised by the lady at RCMP call centre for fingerprint request.It is recommended that you go to the an accredited service provider for the fingerprints. RCMP does not take fingerprints, they used to but they stopped.One`s accredited by RCMP are more expensive but are recommended. Below is the list of accredited places to get finger prints, but like everyone told you wait for the letter. It will come by email.

I am not sure why they gave you a finger print request after your test/interview. It is usually before, did they say anything at the interview/test?
So how it works is that you go to these accredited centres and they send the finger print information with your photo name and date of birth electronically to RCMP.Who will then verify if you have criminal rcord or if you are security threat if there is no match it takes upto 3 business days.If there is a match it takes 120 days.RCMP does not mail the results electronically but they use post mail.They either send it to you or the address on the letter request for the fingerprints usually the address where your file is being processed .RCMP DOES NOT SEND THE VERIFICATION RESULTS ELECTRONICALLY.The accredited company will send them electronically.Once you do your fingerprints you will get a copy for your records.Gussj said:thanks a lot for you informative relply, very helpful
At the interview the officer asked me if I had received the fingerprint letter request as it was indicated on the application that is was needed. I said no,she was surprised. she doubled checked on the system and said she will send the Toronto office another email request to have them send it again as it is required based on the application notes and system. It was issued on October 12. She asked me to wait for the letter, and suggested not to rush.
They outsource the finger printing trough a different office now (Toronto) which has very high volume and slower.
Did you do the finger printing through one of those listed centers?
Did you so an electrical version finger printing or paper version?
Does the letter specify where to send it ?
I called one of the centers they told me they usually send it via electronic version and should take 3-10 days but I should definitely wait for the letter first.
Your feedback is highly appreciated.
Thanks again
I am so sorry to see you are still waiting . Don't give up..... I was in the same situation and we all here hope you will get the invite soon!Yxy.com said:Citizenship Office: ottawa

Thats the thing .I went to the canada pardon centre and they are accredited by RCMP.They said its better you send it yourself with registered mail and put your app number on the envelope.I called the call centre for rcmp finger prints they said its a better idea because you send it through fedex, ups and have a proof of delivery because RCMP sends by regular canada post mail .80 cents lol.I sent it through fedex with overnigjt delivery and required signature.You can track everythingIn addition to that since they will not put it who its for (name) just the ircc office and address it will take longer to reach your immigration agent.If you send it your self and put your app info and UCi number on the parecl its pretty quick fr the to locate.Plus also put a cover letter inside so its easier for them to desigante the documents to the right immigration officer.Gussj said:Vra, thanks again for your feedback.
So do suggest I should have RCMp mail the results to me, and then forward them to IRCc myself in order to confirm the delivery via courier instead of having RCMP mail them directly via regular mail ?
Thanks again.

You are receiving this letter because your fingerprints are required to continue processing your application for Canadian citizenship.
To proceed with your application, you must have your fingerprints taken within thirty (30) days of this letter.
Fingerprinting procedure
Fingerprints must be taken electronically by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), local police, or an accredited private fingerprint agency. For a list of RCMP accredited digital fingerprinting agencies, please see our website at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/fingerprint.asp.
Please note:
• If the RCMP sends the fingerprint results directly to you, forward them to this office as soon as possible so that we can resume processing your application.
• Please contact the agency you are planning to visit to find out the current fee.
1. Bring the following information with you to get your fingerprints taken:
this letter, so that your citizenship file number and the address of the citizenship office requesting your fingerprints are noted on the fingerprint form;
your proof of permanent resident status - Record of Landing (IMM1000) or Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM5292 or IMM5688);
your Permanent Resident Card (if you have ever received one);
at least two (2) pieces of valid identification, one of which contains your photo and signature; the appropriate fees.
2. Get your fingerprints taken electronically (not by ink)
• Ensure that your file reference number is included on the fingerprint form.
3. What happens next:
• • •
The agency sends the fingerprint form directly to the RCMP and advises the appropriate citizenship office that the fingerprints have been forwarded.
Once your fingerprints are received by the RCMP, the results are sent to the citizenship office and processing of your application continues.
Once your file has been finalized, no copy of your fingerprints is retained by either the RCMP or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The requirement to provide additional information or evidence when requested can be found in section 23.1 of the Citizenship Act.
It is important to be aware that the Citizenship Act contains provisions that treat an application as abandoned if you do not contact IRCC with a reasonable explanation for not having your fingerprints taken within thirty (30) days of the date of this letter. It is therefore very important that you contact IRCC if you cannot have your fingerprints taken within thirty (30) days of the date of this letter.
