Thank you Rigly68 - fellow-Edmontonian! :)
Rigly is right. As for no names, there are names and people in the questions. I did 18/20 because of that:)

Hey folks ,

I know I should've asked before sending my wife's application. What do you understand when the application asks if filling taxes were required ?? I looked at the service Canada website looks like if you received any income you are required to fill taxes ... on my wife's application we put that she was required to fill taxes as she has worked since landing in Canada.... I noticed in this forum that some people marked that question as NO ....

Just want to hear your thoughts!!

Thanks !

You filled it out correctly with "Yes" if she worked and had income.

and if she didnt work and have kids..and getting kids benefits as well..then YES
and if she didnt work..but husband want to claim basic exemption of the wife..then YES

and if she is student...or getting OSAP..or claiming education amount... etc... then YES..
so many scenarios.. almost 99% required to file tax..

Thanks guys for your wishes,

The test was easy I got 20/20 reading the book and online resources recommended on this trail really helped me. I also got an app on my cell for 3.99cad but I do not think I should have, there are some free apps that are very good.

The interview took maybe 4 mins, the officer asked for original documents, asked about my job, and some of my travels. He then congratulated me and told that I will get a letter within 2 weeks for the oath, which will be within 2 - 3 months. Gave him the signed sheet and he made me sign on the application, and that's it.

I am soooo happy. I was so nervous today, but everybody was nice.

Good luck everyone.

No Decision made yet. my status has not been updated at all even though I did my test on 11/9. it still says in Process, no test update correspondence as well. Dont know what is going on with the Ottawa office to be honest. I am wondering may be they never update the ECAS. I guess it is their standard operating procedure.

If there is anyone from Ottawa who did the test and got an ECas update accordingly whether it be Decision made/ Interview date update, please share.

Thanks
