Best of luck to every one,, please share updates , questions, information it will help all you guys and it will strength your patience while waiting for your spouses ..

Thank you all!

Officer

Thanks. I'm not a September applicant. Want to get my application in this month. I'm still unclear about the medical exam. Is it true that Italians don't have to do them? On the website, the search page for the doctors wasn't working. If we have to do the exam, it's better to do it upfront. I'm also scared about having to wait 17 months, that's a long time. Is there a way to speed up the process?

Enquiries

General: romevisa@international.gc.ca

Case specific: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=rome

I think you can clarify your ideas if you send an email to then asking the acurate information, anyways the exam is
for evereybody, and 17 months is the average for all cases some take longer and some take less

Thanks Everyone! For some reason, I wasn't able to search for a physician before but the site seems to be working now. I emailed my questions to rome with no response yet. This forum has been very helpful. I really hope the wait time is 1 year or less for me. The other downside is the 3 physicians are located far from where I live. I'm near Venice. Oh well. I guess we'll be going on a trip to Rome. I hope the visit goes smoothly. I don't have a form or anything for the doctor to fill out. I guess the doctor will have the form we need.. Right????

I don't think you need a form. Just go with your passport and that should be enough. Better still, you can give a call to the medical center and ask what documents you need to bring with you.

Tolexmi is completely right, you dont need any from, just passport and two pics kind of the ones for passport, good if you give then a call
just to make sure everything before going there,

OH Great! Thanks a bunch! Have a great day everyone.

Hi neetwo80!

Rome processing time used to be 12-14 months, and people were getting approved around to 8 months! ROME was supposed to be my visa office, but as I was a living as a visitor in Canada, my file was send to Ottawa. While I was filling up the application forms I had questions like you and tried to contact ROME through email but they never bother to reply. Even emails that Tel AVIV VO forwarded to them as that was my original visa office before changing to ROME. If you can call them do it! and any questions you have this forum is amazing. It has everything you need :) You have to do the medical examination is mandatory for everyone. If you do it upfront is the best as your application will be processed without any delays. I think there is also a thread for the ROME visa office if you can find it into the forum.
For your medical exam here you can find what you need. Your passport and 4 sized passport photos. Check this link to be more accurate. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

Best of luck :)

They say the wait time is 17 months now... is this not true. I really hope not. That's so crazy.

CIC seems to have replaced all the wait times with a generic worst-case figure of 17 months. I think they just pulled that number out of thin air to get clients off their back. Actually, if you look at the August 2015 outland thread, there has been a flurry of people getting their CoPR recently, within the last month or so. I would imagine that many of us will be getting CoPR sometime in April 2016, fingers crossed.
