Hi,

I sent our application to the case processing centre in Mississauga on September 7, 2015. It was received and signed by Mahmood on September 10, 2015.
On September 21, 2015 I received a letter from CIC confirming that I am eligible to be a sponsor and informing me that my application has been forwarded to the outland visa office for the PR application processing.
Currently waiting for further news from the visa office...

wow, that was fast! I just sent mine out this past week, arrived at the processing office in Mississauga September 23, hopefully I get my letter in the same time frame as yourself. Best of luck....let the waiting begin...

Hi,

We are a family of 4.I alone applied for FSW 2014 and received PR on 17th Of September and planning to land in November 2015.I have the below doubts regarding sponsoring my husband and 2 children

1.After landing in canada, what is the right time to apply for sponsoring.

2.Should i be working and show employment proofs

3.are there any benefits my dependents are entitles.

4.What is the tentative time for the entire process.

5.Do we have to show any proof of funds

Please clarify these doubts,so that I can plan for their application.

Dear Officer
I am kindly seeking some information from you i would like to know more about the background check, doesnt have anything to do like if i had some loans in country A but am now moving to canada and applying for PR under protected person, will the background check be done also regarding my personal issues like loans etc? or is it just criminality?
thank you and good luck to us all :)

We sent ours yesterday on September 26. Really nervous and excited and worried and happy!

Waiting is definitely nerve-wracking. It's a little scary that once the CIC receives it, there's not really anything else we can do until we get the AoR. The AoR is a good sign, though, right?

Like, if they were intending to send it back to you for some reason, would they likely do it before that point, right?

After the AoR happens, if they need some kind of clarification on a point, etc., I think I've heard of people just being asked to send in the additional info, which seems reasonable.

I mailed out my PR application today!! What a relief to get that finished.
Now the waiting begins.... ;)

So our application was received on Sept 17. Hubby is from the USA. Questions:

- How do they notify you? Email? Phone?
- Is it typical that their timeline site isn't updated weekly (as the site implies)?

Thanks!!

Hello Elger,

Yes, your criminality check is affected only if police or Legal system of that country is involved in your personal life.. if no, then nothing else can affect your criminality check ...

Hope this helps ...

I mailed my application September 22. It was received on September 25.

I'm a Canadian and my common law boyfriend is from Antigua, I was just approved to be the sponsor and now waiting for Step 2 for his Permanent Residence. My understanding is that his papers were sent to Trinidad, does any know how long it takes? We were told his papers started processing June 24; also will he have to go to Trinidad for an interview? My boyfriend lives now in Antigua and we cant afford too much for him to travel .. Ive already saved up for his trip to Canada if he gets approved.

Thanks

I think you need to take a look in the Port of Spain post (for Trinidad applications) you will learn a lot from in there also. There a lady from there "Miss D." She too did common-law you might want to start reading her experiences- I will be in that post also - that's the post for our visa office - very interesting in there - see you there too - good luck !!!!
