Where did you send your package from?
Me personally - I had no trouble using Canada Post to send my application. It was received and signed the next day I sent it

You got lucky because myself and lolleah had issues with Canada post xpress. I paid for next day and it took them 5 days to deliver. We got our money back but that was not the point. I wanted my application there when I paid for it to be there. Those were the worse 5 days ever. The fear that maybe it got lost. I still don't feel safe, I wont feel safe until I hear from CIC.

and it was going from Ottawa to Mississauga. I could of driven it faster myself. sigh ....

I live in Russia with my spouse. So the package went from Russia to Ottawa.

I used DHL from Beijing at 4PM about $80

It was there in 2.5

We won't feel safe either until we hear from CIC, and now that our package is there here's to hoping they don't lose or misplace anything :'(

Hi Folks,
We Used UPS to send our application from UK to Mississauga. Excellent to see it travel all the way across the planet. It was fine until it reached Mississauga Customs . Our courier had ommitted to tick a box before we signed it. We should have double, nay triple checked it and hounded him to check also, but alas we thought he knew what he was doing ??? So...Customs refused to send it on until it had been checked. We were notified by UPS.

We thought it was going to be a major delay and as a result my husband and I were in turmoil. Horror stories of packages being held for weeks until someone physically came to sign it off. Customs opening and checking contents led to fears of missing forms, or evidence all caused much stress for several hours.

After many phonecalls to customs and UPS it was checked and released that afternoon and was received at Mississauga later that day, much to our relief. Just one of those added stresses that we didn't need. We are assuming it is unlikely we will hear anything until they grant SA?!

If they need any additional forms or evidence we are unsure of who to use now!

+1 and well said Mariac 8) We are all in the same boat so to speak no matter how long or little time it takes for some of us here. Here's to hoping that all of our applications go smoothly and as quick as possible It really is no fun being in limbo and especially with all the added anxiety and what if's etc :'(

Yeah, I think we are all just READY to be with our loved ones for GOOD!

I am staying hopeful that everyone in September will have a smooth process. SA's will be coming soon (Fingers Crossed)!!!!

I feel bad for the Inland folks, they are still at 13mos. 1st stage.

You have to be careful with that stat (as with any other stats). It is definitely encouraging for sure (I know I'm excited too), but if you look at the August spreadsheet, the average waiting time is now 51 days for those who have yet to receive their SA. Those that actually received their SA is 41.5 (which comfirms the CIC statistic). I can see this number getting higher unfortunately as they continue to approve the backlog...and in my opinion, this stat has come down since CIC seems to be pushing thru the Commonwealth applicants pretty fast (and US applicants). Just my opinion...but doesn't stop me from checking every single day hoping for the SA!! ;D

It's my understanding that, at least for Americans, crossing the border shouldn't be a problem if you have your SA paperwork in hand so you can show them that you're doing everything by the book. I was then advised to file for a visitation extension (though I'm still not clear on when to do that).

I have been here since March 2014, you can obtain a visitor extension at the border; you'll be sent inside anyway if you are driving through with furniture etc. Otherwise, you can extend it online which takes about 13 days for processing.
