I always have had good dealings with CP till now. I mean this is the most important mail I have ever sent and can't imagine what to do if it got lost or something. And also you would think CIC would know that people would be very anxious to know if they had received our packages and give us an official mail to say so asap.. Anyhow we are hoping all will be okay, and now I sort of wish we had put all our info in one box as mentioned by others here.. We had three envelopes tied together with string and mailed it in a larger envelope to them.

Hmmm, I just did one envelope. Not too worried about it. It can't be too hard to understand. I've been ultra thorough and I didn't do a box. Wouldn't worry too much about it :)

Hubby sent our application last Sat. (Sept. 27) thru Canada Post as of now it is still not receive in CIC. Hopefully by tomorrow they will be able to receive it. Good luck to everyone.... :)

We sent in our Common-Law application (Canadian husband, American wife) from the US on Sept 23rd and it arrived in Mississauga on Sept 25th. Sent via UPS to the courier address and it was signed by "Dave".

Now the waiting game begins! Good luck everyone! And thanks for the existence of this forum, it really helped a lot!

To input your dates/visa office, at the top of the page where it says "HOME", "ASSESSMENT", etc. Click on "PROFILE"
On the life hand side is a module. One of the headers says: "Modify Profile". Underneath that, click on the link that says "Forum Profile Information"

This is strange -- I went to add my dates and I don't see a link that say s "Forum Profile Information"! Under "Modify Profile" it only has "Account Related Settings". Whaaa? Screenshot: imgur.com/u4VgoQg

That's because you need a minimum number of posts (10 I believe) before you have that option.

Well that's annoying. Of what purpose could that limitation possibly serve except to annoy new users such as myself who just mailed in our applications? Well, whatever, I guess it'll have to wait till I have 6 more things to say, whenever that will be. Good luck to all!

That limitation helps you to get involved in the community, We are all learning and have all started at the same place.
Its a great bunch of people on here and we all try to help one another.

To add to what was already said above. It also prevents people from creating multiple account for spamming purposes. It isn't really to annoy anything. :)

A lot of us have been here searching, reading and asking questions for YEARS - the 10 posts are easy to get. Promise!

So hopefully by October 14th, some of the first SA's will be coming through! Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I am looking forward to them :D
Has anyone heard a reasonable time line based on August's OUTLAND information? I'm not the best at navigating these things...!

Only one person from August has gotten approval and they are a Canadian-American couple which is always easier. Don't expect anything so soon.

Haha, so safe to say that the 6 week timeline is a bit unrealistic....!?

Danerin, did you just go from 6 weeks from the first September applications and get the date Oct 14? Just curious how you reached that date.

I actually originally sent my application on August 3 and it was returned 2 weeks ago for outdated forms that WERE updated. So now I had to re-send it blablabla. So I think the best is to try to forget about the applications until they advise you. Try not to guess what or when they will do something. It's impossible to know with CIC.

I counted 6 weeks from the first of September (the month we have submitted our applications). It has been said that the average processing times for SA is 6 weeks...
That's why I was asking if the processing times have been going longer... based on the feedback from the forum and it's users :)

Thanks DANERIN re the mail comment, we are trying not to worry about it and hope everyone's applications arrive safely there too and all goes well for all :)

Would be cool if some of us Sept folk get some good news in Oct for sure! 8)

Update: Wow that bites JAMO and doesn't seem fair at all :( Hopefully we're all good with the forms but who knows lol.
