Just got ready for visa 5 minutes ago

Finally received my passport back with stamp :

Category........: CEC
Visa Office......: Ottawa
App. Filed.......: Sep 26, 2014
Passport Req..: Mar 16 2016
Passport Received...: Apr 4, 2016

So it might be a real request and not a mistake... in which case I'm a little excited now

I would book in for your medical upfront if you haven't already had the request! Then just wait for PPR or COPR in the mail if you're visa exempt.

Can somebody here advice if it would be better to complete landing procedures and then return back to home country to resign from a job? Or is it safe enough to resign, pack up and land in Canada? In other words is a COPR pretty much guaranteed or is there still some uncertainty till one lands? Has anybody faced a similar dilemma?

I believe your COPR will have an expiry date, so as long as you land before that date, you're safe! Its usually 1 year from when you did your medical.

I received ready for visa email just before sometime

Quick question please help.

It says in step 2, if you need visa to enter Canada i need to send the passport if I dont need visa to enter Canada then do not send passport instead send photo copies.

My workpermit and visa expires in 10 days. Please advice what to do.

Please send the passport as soon as possible unless you have to travel back after 10days.
If you have to then send a mail to CIC stating your case. They will provide you with details where to send the passports after you leave Canada. The same happend one of my friend who had a country change when he got the PPR. He sent a mail to CIC and they guided him very well.

i took your advice and booked medical.... just received MR, unfortunately earliest time they could do is next monday but still not too bad.... celebratory drink! ;D

Happy to see in this week cic is moving old CEC again by sending PPRs. Congrats to those who are completing old CEC long journey!

Thanks Buddy. Will do that. I just thinking whether to extend my workpermit before sending the passport. Because if I cross the border and re-enter canada I can extend my workpermit at the border. And then send my passport to CIC. Because for landing I need a valid permit to cross the border and re-enter canada rite ? Thanks

Nope I don't have this line like you had. If I have it I'd be much relieved. Paid upfront RPRF, waiting for this line, or PPR, or decision made. If none of these, my GCMS should arrive soon.

Btw, did you mean "my friend" or "fiend"? Fiend is a type of mysterious fierce monster
