Received a fifth line on my ecas status today. It refers to RCMP Criminal record check email on March 29, 2016

Just finished my fingerprints at one of RCMP accredited fingerprinting companies yesterday morning. Anyone knows how long does it take to get the results from RCMP and it will be sent to CIC-Ottawa office?

Fingerprinting companies said 10-15 working days will take to reach RCMP to OTTAWA.

Finally got the PPR request and sent the passports on 30th March. Now waiting for COPR. These are my timelines:

AOR: 30th Jan 2015
Medical: Upfront (Mid-Jan 2016)
RPRF: Mar 3, 2016
PPR Request: Mar 24, 2016

I really appreciate all the forum members who have helped me with my queries. Thank you so much guys during the long journey and all the best to others who are waiting for the remaining steps !!

What is the secret to getting your ECAS updated?
I applied Sept 12th and have had my medical request and completed and uploaded 2 weeks ago, I paid upfront RPRF but I only have 2 lines in my ECAS
Application received Sept 12th 2014
Started processing application Jan 29th 2015

I am from UK and am not expecting passport request but would have expected some additional lines in ECAS by now?

Hey,
When you did your fingerprint check, if you provided your home address, then RCMP will send results to you in 3-5 business days. Then, you're responsible to send it to CIC, referencing your UCI and AOR number and whatnot. In total it takes 8-10 days for CIC to receive it and update it on their side. I did this process and observed these dates on my GCMS.

I have the exact same date and AOR with yours, I have done RCMP check in April 2014, but I don't have the 3rd and 5th lines as shown in your ECAS. Would you mind sharing what documents did CIC require in your line 3 and line 5?

Actually, for RCMP check records which comes clean, the "Commissionaires" that I went had a policy of releasing results in 72 hours - 3 business days.

When was you passport received by CIC? 18th March?

Ya, I sent out on 16th and its was received Ottawa on 18th

When did you receive your medical exam?

I received a MR on March 4th. Doctor submitted the results on March 18th.

Just recevied my Passport back today! i sent an email to cpc ottawa to cofirm wheather they received my passport or not bcz the tracker was showing that it was still out for delivery ..they replied back same day saying that it was recevied on march 18 n they sent it back on march 31 so i got it today

PP req : March 16
PPsent : march 16
PP delivered: march 18
Visa stamped: March 22
Passport sent back: March 31
Passport recevied: April 1

Hi Guys,

Please be careful where you go for RCMP fingerprints, there are many approved agencies on CIC's website but I would suggest you go to Commissionaries, they are the only ones directly connected to RCMP Headquarters, others are third party agencies, I did mine from Ace Fingerprinting in Toronto, They lost my fingerprints as the guy had no idea what he was doing, and CIC kept saying call after 45 days. However I did it again from Commisionaries and requested the RCMP report at my address rather than sending to CIC directly. I got the report in 4 days and in a week after I sent it to CIC , I received a confirmation email.

Please be careful not to get a refusal because of someones else's carelessness.

My Canadian visa is expired now, Should I first apply TRV(waiting for PR) or should I go for for US visa first.. I don't want any rejection,

Hi. You do NOT need a job offer. As for proof of funds, I think it was indicated somewhere in the PR application. ($ 11,086 for a single person, $ 13,801 for two family members??). These numbers could have changed though.

I hope that when you said "Canadian Visa" you meant the entry visa (TRV), not your work permit. If this is your case, you will not need TRV to return to Canada from continent US only. In other words, expired TRV is good for returning to Canada from continent US only. Source: my personal travels to US with expired TRV, valid WP, and returning to Canada.

If you were in a third country via US, then expired TRV won't work and it will be trouble. E.g. if you went to Baja/Mexico via San Diego, if you went to Puerto Rico. Not sure if Hawaii and Alaska would be on the "no-go" list. However you were saying that you are going to Anaheim only, so your work permit and expired TRV will work.

I was not requested by CIC for a new schedule A form recently, and not recently for RCMP check.

I was told that the company will send the fingerprints linking to UCI and AOR number. The company made a copy of original CIC RCMP fingerprint request email and I told them about what was written in the email. I will follow-up with them next week.

You might need to call CIC agent centre about your ECAS status or you can get another GCMS note.
