quick question friends - I need to pay 490 as part of RPRF for the entire family or 490*3 as I had applied along with my dependent (Spouse + Kid - 4+ years)

I have my work permit until April and I'm still waiting for MR like eveyone in this group. My BOWP which i got last year is expiring in April 2016. Just wondering whether I'm eligible to reapply for BOWP coz of CIC delay [ just want to be prepared for worst case scenario ].

You should be able to get BOWP again, just apply ASAP because processing time is 3 months at least.

Like any other CIC application be sure all the forms are filled out correctly, add a Letter of Explanation, copies of current WP and AOR... Probably the same you did before

So I got the second email last night before i got home ..
I called my wife over and told her .. guess what .. got RPRF fee request .. and the atmosphere changed to joy excitement and hugs etc
Then in a few seconds a question popped up ... 'Y dont you looked excited to hear this news'
and thats when I had to drop the ball.
Damn u CIC.. Damn U

I was reading the posts in this forum with bag of popcorn in my hand last night! thats the most excitement for the year so far.

I was reading the posts in this forum with bag of popcorn in my hand last night! thats the most excitement for the year so far.

Huh, working on applications ? May be they are using our applications to test their software patches. May be there is a bug in the software patch, that sent emails to all. Going by Aug applicants pace, I really doubt whether they really have a plan to complete the 2014 CEC applicants ?

Go to John McCallum's facebook page and write viewers comments. Atleast it triggers email to his PA. The minister is old and looks drunk. I doubt whether this guy can achieve anything other than bringing in the refugees and receiving them in the airport.

Any Database experts here who can shed light on what happened yesterday and what was the criteria intended for such emails.
Looking at the trend, looks like people from all aspects received the email.
1) Who already landed
2) Who were rejected before
3) Who are awaiting for MR and who have given MR upfront.
Can someone explain the trend and confirm if indeed the people who got the email (and it mentioned eligibility passed) have their eligibility passed in the background but CIC still needs to do their security/credit check etc?

don't be so negative.
although a huge error, it was good to relieve the email, at least we know we are still in their system
imagine the influx of calls they had about it yesterday, if anything, they'll be wanting to finish our applications as soon as possible to get us out of their hair and bury the shameful way they handled our files in the transition to EE.

I'm on my way home now to pay rprf, as from reading on the website, it doesnt hurt to pay in advanced, and will be nice to see some type of update in my ecas.

I don't know if there is any real trend, my guess is everyone who had submitted a paper application pre EE received it...
I'm guessing there are few already landed or in receipt of copr who are active in this forum.. they probably just called or emailed cic to query it

CIC, could of sent a slightly different email, to those of us with applications still in process ( with some different wordings), so that in future when we recieve exactly the same email, we will not be skeptical,, however who knows how easy this would of been for them to do.
also is timing important, seems like we all got the first rprf at the same time, but people received the second email at various times..

As per my understanding, system generates this email when it has some particular values in the Database. Who ever received that email, has those values in the the table. That value comes always when somebody completed a certain level. That means all the applicants who received this email already crossed that level, till Jun to Oct. Here you can see some people got it even after getting PR or refusal as they also have that certain value in table.

and As RPRF is the last thing which applicant receive, that means all those has received that email is in that last level of the process. those didn't get, may be their file still not completed yet. Now its upto CIC when they pick our application one by one and send us our PPR.

That is the way generally system works. It may be something differ here but that is the overall system process.
