It's really surprising that you got your medical request. Are you sure, you are CEC applicant? Sorry but I just wanted to double check since all the August and September applicants are waiting for their medical request. Anyways congratulations...

I am wondering how CIC is processing our applications. Are they pulling out applications randomly from a hat?

Yes man. I applied for CEC (I worked with PGWP and had 1 year work experience). The only reason I posted is because everyone else seems to be waiting while for no apparent reason I received mine. I hope this mean the rest of you guys will receive it soon too.

Hi guys,

This forum has been so instrumental in me knowing what is happening with everyone's else status that it has guided me so well. Therefore, I had to create this account to share the recent development with my CEC application. This will probably be my first and only post (unless something else major happens) but I am a September Applicant in the Canadian Experience Class and received my Medical request two days ago. I also received a request for original police certificate from two countries (very annoying). The police certificate request email came actually one day after the medical request. One quick thing is that they are requesting me to mail the original police certificate to an mailing address.

Here is my details:
Applied for the Canadian Experience Class on September 15, 2014 (actually this is the date received my them)
AOR received on Jan 29, 2015
Medical Request on April 29, 2015
BOWP successfully received around April 24th - applied Feb 22, 2015
I applied for GCMS on April 15, 2015 (still waiting to receive it)

Is receiving the medical request a good sign as in does it mean your eligibility status has been passed? Or is this just one of the steps? Any personal experience on CEC applications being rejected after medical request? I will post again after I receive the GCMS notes as it will give more clarity to people I think.

For examples, I hope my GCMS would answer questions such as: Medical request is sent after GCMS status has been passed? Or if my case has been recommend to be reviewed by an officer etc. Or maybe medical request is just another step (but I seem to have received Medical request before anyone else in this forum as per our timeline) It feels so strange because its not like my application was extremely strong etc.

One last thing, I also successfully applied for BOWP and received a one year extension. This seems to be independent of my PR application in a sense that I could get rejected for CEC but still work till expiry of this BOWP (no conditions in the BOWP itself apart from the usual)

Good luck in your applications.

Hi

Could you please let me know what to fill in the BOWP application. I am currently in Canada on a work permit. For BOWP, it asks for......

IMM 5710 Form

Q3: I am applying for one of the following: OPTIONS: a work permit with same employer or a new employer. I do not have new a offer letter. So what I should check in there.

Page 3:

1. What type of work permit applying for? - I chose open work permit.

2. Details of my prospective employer (attach original offer of employment)
a. Name of employer
b. Address of employer
c. Intended location of employment in Canada
d. My occupation in Canada will be
e. Duration of expected employment

I do not have a new offer letter. I do not know what to fill in. So what should one fill in? How the members dealt with it?

Another Q: Employment Details exceed the space provided - so what should I do?

It also asks for schedule1 form. Where do I get that?

Could you please provide information related to above urgently.

Thanks,
N

Seriously... I applied GCMS ,should get this month last week. Really dont have any idea what they are thinking about our applications.

I think up till August 5 applicants have received medical request and nothing after that. I think the last request was 2 weeks ago. Wondering what is the reason behind this delay...

Hi guys, I have a question. I sent an email with a few attachments to CIC regarding adding spouse to my CEC application. Today I got reply and they are asking me to resend the documents in one file and it has to be under 5MB in size.

So I tried a few software and it only came to 13MB with good quality. what should I do in this case? Can anybody suggest?

My dear friends, I just got my GCMS notes. Could anybody tell me what these information means? Thanks a lot!

Eligibility Assessment: Not Started
Security: Not Started
Criminality: In Progress

Hi,

This is the first time I am posting on this forum.

I applied under the CEC class, for myself and my wife, in Sep and recieved my AOR in Jan and later recieved my RCMP check request in April; havent heard anything back from CIC after that.

I had a question regarding Bridging/Open Work permits. I was wondering if I could now apply for an open work permit for my wife (she is curently in Pakistan) so that she could join me here in Canada, while our PR process is still running in the background. I was wodnering if its possible to do so? If yes then I should simply apply for an open work permit for my wife, correct? Do you guys think I'll be able to get the work permit before the PR?

I'll really apprecaite any help with this, thanks.

Msaleem, unfrotunately Brigding open work permit is only for people inside Canada who have a job currently, and not for people outside of canada cos that defeats the purpose.
When i spoke to CIC last year about applying for a BOWP for my wife who is not in Canada she said it would be an outright reject.. but she gave me a good option .. apply for her visiting visa and then once shes here she can apply for a spousal work permit .. which was successful and my wifes been here since last year on an open work permit

Oh thats very helpful, thanks.

Just out of curosity, will it be difficlt to get her a visiting visa now since I have already applied for her PR. Do i need to provide a good reason as to why I am applying for ehr visa now?

Thanks in advance

It all depends on the country where your from and how difficult it is to get a visa from there. Catch hold of a good agent in your country who knows the work arounds i say

Winterfox, this is not 100% correct. You don't have to have a job in order to get a BOWP - if you are on PGWP which is about to expire in less than three months and you have applied for PR - you can get your BOWP and I don't think whether you currently have a job or not matters in this case.
