Hello guys, sorry to post in September forum but I was going through it and wanted to discuss my case and need some suggestion. I did apply in October, I got my file number so late in Feb and my work permit expired. I retured to India with AOR. I have my lawyer and he only filed for PR and I do not have anything at all except AOR. I talked to him last week he said we don't need to change address! Why is it so..! And he said Medicals come almost in one year..!! So, what about this address matter?? What do I do??

I spoke with a CIC rep today. He checked my documents have reached them, and so have the medical reports. So they have all they need (and some more) as far as my file is concerned. The ECAS status is not updated, and it may not be current always, as is my case now.

Also, advised me to resend my change of address note, so they move the visa office. It indeed has to be New Delhi, but they will take care of sending the file, and corresponding docs to the new office, and I don't need to worry if my file's stuck or lost anywhere. And yes, the reason is you can't airmail your passport outside your country.

Funny, the CIC responded to my email from Mar 10 today. That tells me they are picking up old emails now, and if anyone's waiting for responses from CIC, there's your timeline. Doesn't explain why they haven't seen my change of address email from Feb 16 yet, but they've seen some and been responding periodically, so yea, much relieved today!

Must say the CIC rep was quite helpful. Name was Alex, in case you get through to him, you'll be helped too!

AFAIK, you have to make the change to your address if you are currently not staying at the place mentioned in your PR application filed earlier. Check the below link.

For outside - Canada you have to inform them via mail.

I am also copy pasting the information from the link provided :

"If you do not tell CIC or the visa office of your change of address, important documents could be delayed or lost. This could cause your application to be refused."

Call a friend up in Can and ask her to patch you up. Can't gTalk or VOIP them, I've tried. Try Skype or Viber out maybe.

Hi,

Did you fill an initial representative form that is part of the PR package ? If you have, then I dont think it is necessary to change the address. But to be on the safer side, I would still inform CIC about the movement back to India since the primary applicant's address is no longer valid.

At this rate I don't think we're getting MRs before August.

I have received my AOR during the 1st week of Feb. So as the trend goes, you receive MR's 6 months after AOR generation. So I am not even expecting MR before August.

I think the huge delay in getting AOR for August, September and October 2014 applicants (September and October applicants more so) was probably caused by the combination of labor shortage during the holiday season and CIC being extra careful and making sure that they're not sending out AORs for applications that didn't make the 8000 cap.

August 2014 applicants who received their AORs in October is getting MRs now, so we should start seeing something in the end of May, at least that what I'm hoping...

August guys who got AORs in October are getting MR's now...We got AOR's starting Jan mid I believe....so the gap between October and April (now) is 6 months. So if we do that to us, its definitely going to be July end / August !

Relax guys. It will come...but probably after 6 months later on receiving your respective AOR's.

Just got mail from Medical Center.

They uploaded my results today at 2:15 PM EST.
