Hello Everyone. I had submitted my police clearance with the application and didn't receive any email for submitting pcc. Someone applicants got an email even though they had submitted pcc with their applications. Should I be worrying that I didn't get an email for pcc?

Never got a response, so asking again:

had underwent medical tests on Dec 31 2014 as a part of my Work Permit app, Med report says - Worker. Will it suffice for PR med req?

sent the scanned copies and photocopies of the med reports to CIC a couple times, no response. Normal?

sent a new one with UMI#s mentioned and copies of the reports again. Should it change the ECAS status?

No changes in ECAS yet. Can't call as I'm in India now. How to proceed?

Hi,

Have you informed about the address change when you went back to India ? If not, then it should have been done. Based on your address change, the concerned VISA office gets changed to New Delhi. Then you can contact the call centre at New Delhi for further correspondence.

Thanks!

I did, but never got a response that they acknowledged it. ECAS does not allow me to update an Indian address, it's only for a change in Canadian address it seems. Should an email suffice stating the same? My concern is, I've already done it once up to no avail.

Can that be a reason why my emails or packages are going in a limbo? Because I sent all my docs to CIC Ottawa as they asked!

Hi,

I am not sure if it can be done - Sending documents to Ottawa while you are in India. Did you also send a representative form who can take care of your application in Canada ? if you have then I suppose it will not pose a problem. AFAIK, your application does get transferred to New Delhi after intimation of change of address, so that your application gets processed from there.

Well normally your change of address in reflected in ECAS in a month max. Not sure why it hasn't changed by now after intimation. You can probably send a follow up mail to the already sent mail and can say that ECAS has not been updated with current address.

Hi,

Not sure if I am reading it incorrectly or is there actaully confusion. Few things that I would like to clarify to reduce your anxiety.
1. All CEC applications are processed in Ottawa irrespective of where you are. Its not like FSWP where they would send the application to the appropriate visa office.
2. You should still get the address updated as during the final stages you will have to get your passpost stamped and if its the India address then you can send the passport at the India visa office. Just send them one email and chill. CIC takes a lot of time to respond.
3. There is no need to inform CIC that you already done the medical. They would see it in the system and if that would be OK then they would not ask for the medical again. Currently they are working on July/Aug applicants (as per tracker) and so they would touch our files only after couple of months (assuming you applied in Oct).
4. Dont send too many emails for the same thing. It wont do any positive to your file...

Best of Luck...

Now I need apply a BOWP.
I am an October applicant.
I don't know which will be faster, BOWP or PR card. :-X

Hi,

Many of my friends have returned back to India and after notifying CIC about the change of address, they have got an entry in ECAS as "Your file has been transferred to New Delhi". The passport request for stamping comes from New Delhi and you need to send your passport to New Delhi. Its a crazy logic to send passport to Ottawa from India, if the processing is done from Ottawa no matter where you are.

So aryaban, request you to do some more research on this. My friends have done the same, and they have received their PR's.

Good luck !

My current work permit will expire at the end of September.
Then you are eligible to apply BOWP sometime in May'15. Based on the current processing flow you will not receive PR on or before September so you need to apply for BOWP.

Good people, thanks much for responding. Those helped!

I spoke with a CIC rep today. He checked my documents have reached them, and so have the medical reports. So they have all they need (and some more) as far as my file is concerned. The ECAS status is not updated, and it may not be current always, as is my case now.

Also, advised me to resend my change of address note, so they move the visa office. It indeed has to be New Delhi, but they will take care of sending the file, and corresponding docs to the new office, and I don't need to worry if my file's stuck or lost anywhere. And yes, the reason is you can't airmail your passport outside your country.

Funny, the CIC responded to my email from Mar 10 today. That tells me they are picking up old emails now, and if anyone's waiting for responses from CIC, there's your timeline. Doesn't explain why they haven't seen my change of address email from Feb 16 yet, but they've seen some and been responding periodically, so yea, much relieved today!

Must say the CIC rep was quite helpful. Name was Alex, in case you get through to him, you'll be helped too!

So evidently, patience is the name of the game here!

Got my GCMS notes today. Nothing special.
