Some of the work permit officers are very lenient .. Ive had good experience with them cos this is probably my 5th work permit
So apply again asap and let the application get into the pipeline before ur restoration date passes by.
Officers are well aware that it needs an AOR to get an open permit so they will mostly consider ur case ..
make sure to right a nice letter in which u can show how distressed u really .

I don`t know man, really don't want to risk it. i case it gets rejected i need to pack my bags... sooooo. If I get the Ontario nomination, they will issue a closed WP for the company.

no dude it doesn't work like that,

if you get rejection ( which is not gonna happen ) you will still have 90 days status restoration period, you can restore your status in that period just paying almost double fees. yeah but you cannot work in this restoration period thats it.

they will not ask you to move out Canada immediate.

Dude dont make it too late ..u got 3 more days to go .. the rule is that ur application should be filed before the final day .. so it doesnt matter
apply online and it will reach right away into their database.

Horrifying story from October applicants. 8000 Cap has been reached. Still cannot believe it. When I applied, there were about 4,000 caps left.

A question is when was the cut-off? Am I safe?

my situation is/was similar to you.
my post graduation permit was expired after months waiting for AOR and i lost the chance to apply for BOWP.

But after tons of research, i found many people who succeeded receiving the BOWP, when they didn't have AOR yet and were on implied status after they work permit expired already.
it took between 7 to 10 days for them to receive BOWP after they got the AOR.

so i applied both restoration of status as worker and BOWP a month ago and i just got AOR last week, so im still hoping a good news soon.
but i think things are positive since they have not rejected my application for extension already.

technically it's not our fault AOR is taking more than 5 month and should not be the reason we lose our job and status
it doesn't matter how many time you got rejected, I don't think it will affect you negatively in the future.
if i were you, i will apply both today.
there is option to upload explanation letter and write a long and nice letter to explain your situation and your plan if you stay in Canada (just bonus)

Thanks, i might try doing that. My company lawyer`s are been assholish about though for some reason.

You dont need ur lawyer for a bowp .. do it urself its super simple man .. never rely on others for what u cudve done urself

you call CIC asking this, they will say you can't
some lawyers might tell you you can't either

but there are people who made it , so why not trying it ?
like i mentioned, it's not our fault for late AOR and they need to understand it.

Yeah I`ve always done all applications by myself. It`s just for the OPNP the company instead on lawyers, so I didn't have much of an option there.
