I don't understand why are you all excited with just MR. Don't we know that we're already not prioritized and delayed big time? For the old CEC who knows how long wait is there after MR? 8 months? CIC can and might make another long wait after MR. BOWP, MR, additional docs requests are not exciting at all. I won't put on my celebration face until my COPR for EE or old CEC.

But that was my point about contacting that reporter as CIC might say ok everybody has got MR now ...lets let them wait another year while we go back to EE

Thanks for this very valid point. I started to prepare my writings for him but I want to be very careful about the part of re-applying to EE. I don't want to see any media implys old CEC ppl to re-apply to EE being a solution.

I am a 2nd September applicant and applied for CEC PR only for myself.
I recently got an email from CIC asking for Police Certificates for my wife as well though I have not applied for her.
Any idea, is this standard process or the email was sent by mistake?

Can you be more specific please? Have you married to a Canadian Citizen/PR and whose name mentioned in the file?

I am also a Sept 2nd applicant have recently received email from cic requesting for PCC from India. But inorder to apply u need valid work permit but unfortunately since i applied for 2nd BOWP, im currently under implied status.any ideas??

Honestly,
I see all these CEC delays as an excuse to make more money for CIC by extending and applying for BOWP.
Not sure if this is true but I heard work permit fees have now jumped to 250$ per person.
Imagine if there were around even 2000 people in CEC waiting for their file to be opened and wuold need to apply for BOWP
Thats $500,000 for CIC easily and no to forget people appying fo their spouses well.

I suggest they just increase 1000 landing fee . much save time .

u can get an approval from indian embassy, may be show them the request from cic and apply with the approval letter.

OR if you have applied for a BOWP, include a copy of that application confirmation with your pcc application.

there is a backlog of 6000 old applications, as per some media reports

yes, you need to get approval from consulate - on bloor street in toronto, i think.

for supporting docs - u need to fill out all the forms (print the checklist) from bls website
