Hi Toby,

I landed at Niagara Falls on June 1st and my ECAS says Complete.

Thanks for all your help
Aura

Awesome, congrats!! :) I updated the spreadsheet.

Hi All,

Completed my landing on 7th June at the Rainbow bridge.

Here is my experience:

1) crossed over to the US to see the Niagara falls from the american side.

2) came back after 2 hours for landing.

3) There was no queue and the officer was nice and we were done in 15-20 Mins.

Now the real story, today I got a call from the same officer and he said that the photo on our COPR does not correspond to the specification of the PR card and he asked us to resend them to his office at Niagara.

I am little confused here as I don't know if this is normal, didn't CIC check my photo at the time of the application ??

Can anyone help me out with this??

Thanks,
Gumpy

Hi toby and iamroth,

I have a question where I could do with your advise.

My spouse is a dependent on my application and I just learnt that her passport expires on Jan 15th 2015, which is 7 months from now. May countries refuse to issue visa to individuals whose passport are or will expire within 6 months. The work around is to renew your passport and then submit for the visa.

My question is: should I renew my spouses passport now before CIC ask for the passport as she will be 6 months away for expiry or it doesn't matter?

any advise from any members is highly appreciated.

Thank you.

hi Iamtoby,
my status is showing decision made now.
I am waiting for reply from CIC about Visa stamping at other office.

as per the instructions the visa will be issued per the the passport that has least of the time left before expiry. That means, if your wife has 7 months left on her passport, You & your wife - both will get a visa that will expire with in 7 months.

it is a good idea to renew the passports, because you will need it in later years anyways.

I forgot to update that I received and sent our FBI clearance documents on May 23rd. I think that should be everything. Sounds like others have been waiting for awhile for a final decision.

Thank you iamroth. Will get the passport renewed ASAP

I completed my Landing early sunday Morning at Rainbow Bridge !! 8 june
I went to Niagra on saturday night ! Went to Dragnfly Night club and decided to Cross the Border at 6 :30 in the Morning.
I walked across the Bridge and Reached US immigration Dept.
There were just 2 officers and no one else , one of them asked what I was there for and then he asked my PassPort and within like 5 minutes gave the refusal document.
There was no one else entering Canadian side as well. The officer asked for employment letter, I had one and gave it to him.
It took him 10 - 15 minutes to finish the things. And I became Permanent Resident :D

The whole process took me 30 to 45 including the walk :D
I would like to thank everyone in this forum for your Help ;)

Where does one get information on their MP? I am in Toronto. What is the good time to approach them? I have been waiting for PPR for 3 months now but still within the 13 month timeline of CEC.
