Any idea if there is a deadline like 60 days even for the passport stamping from CIC

*******************************************************************************
I am in a peculiar situation because CIC actually speeded up.
I was expecting PPR around Oct/Nov 2014 when i applied for PR in Sep last year

My daughter's passport expires March 2015
Which means she cannot have any visa stamped beyond Oct 2014 (less than 6 months validity)

The processing time for renewal of passport is 2 months

So if I apply for renewal now
and if I get PPR from CIC, then I wont have my daughters passport
and may even not have within the 60days deadline if exists

If I push it till end and renew at Oct, again the same situation

In each of the situations
her passport number is going to change, which means hassle for me to have it updated with CIC again

So it is so frustrating not knowing what to do and when PPR would be through

From what I know passports are still valid until the validity date stamped on it.It is not just valid for travel if it is below 6 months.

Reason being - response I got from CIC

Please be advised that no further action is required of you at this time. If additional documents are needed an officer will be in touch with you shortly. Please ensure when submitting documents that they are still valid and will not expire within 6 months as this could delay your application

I have learnt from somewhere that ECAS status changes once a day. Also, the PPR request between 10:45 PM and 11:00 PM.

MBACanada, are you saying that if a passport is about to expire within 6 months, CIC will not stamp the visa? If so then I may have an issue as well. My wife, her passport expires in Jan 2015, I am in the renewal process but not sure how long that can be.

There is no requirement for the duration of the validity of the passport.

I called CIC and talked to an agent about that, and his reply was " a valid passport is a one that is still valid when the visa officer stick the visa to it". But he said that he recommends that the passport is valid for 2 months just in case one wants to make an "in-land landing" because it could take up to 6 weeks to get an appointment.

This does make sense.

My day:
Wake up, check phone to see if any emails from CIC overnight. Nope.
Go to work. Come home, check mailbox for any mail from CIC. Nope.
Dinner, Netflix, check ECAS to see if any update from 'in process'. Nope.
Go to sleep.

:) :) :) :) :)
More or less mine is also same
in fact my frequency to check mail is more :)

Yesterday I was checking other forums and found that the applicants from may/june/july/august are also waiting.
Some November applicant did get PPR request so the process is moving. I hope by next week we all also hear something.
