Applied for BOWP on March 18th.

Does anyone know if you can travel between Canada and the USA during the time you have your passports submitted to CIC? My wife and I have Nexus if that matters. Great forum, thanks!

A little off-topic, but how did you get a nexus pass?? Thought you'd have to be canadian citizen or permanent resident to apply for that??
And yes, if you have a nexus pass you don't need the passport to cross at a land border.

I'll add your BOWP application to the BOWP sheet on the spreadsheet. Keep me posted on the status.

Also, does this mean we can't fly? Seeing if I'll be able to plan a vacation. :)

No, you won't be able to fly back into Canada. Unless you, as a US citizen, can fly into our outbound without a passport, which I doubt.
You can fly once you get your passport back. Why did you have to submit your passport at all??

Haven't yet but don't we have to at the end of the process to get PR?

No, as a US citizen you don't require a visa to enter Canada, so you do not have to submit the passport
to CIC. Usually, for citizens of visa exempt countries, they only ask for a scan of the passport at the end of the process.
Submitting the passport is only for people who need a visa to enter Canada, so CIC can stamp a one-entry visa in the passport.

All replies from CIC has a signature, for me the reply comes from

"Case Processing Pilot - Ottawa | Centre de Traitement Pilote - Ottawa –TK8373" was wondering what is TK8373? Is this common for all?

Not sure why you get a response from Case Processing Pilot, as that's the old name... But I guess that
TKxxxx is some kind of ID of the person who wrote the email.

Nope, there's no IDs in my emails. Only what I copied/pasted in my last post.
