Give it a couple of days and them email them and ask them to confirm the receipt of the document.
You can also order GCMS notes, as the notes show incoming communications from your side as well.

Information about GCMS can be found here:

And information about how to email CPC can be found here:

I am in urgent need of help and advice. I applied for my PR in CEC on September 2013, and till date I have not received any communication back from CIC. There has been no acknowledgement and neither have they encashed my DD. Please suggest, what I should be doing in this case? I tried sending an email as well on Feb 1st this year and there has been no reply my query from their side..
please help!!

Please note that this query is for my friend.

Hey,

has the application ever reached the Sydney office? Like has your friend checked the tracking and
made sure that the application got there at all?
September 2013 applicants received the first communication in November 2013 in form of the AOR and
credit cards and bank drafts etc were charged/encashed in October.
So something should have happened by now. Your friend could also try calling the CIC hotline and
see what they can find out about his application.
Where did he send the application to??

Call CIC hotline and check with them. There's nothing else you can do. If you email the Ottawa office without stating
the application number, you won't get a response. So the hotline is your best bet.

What email address did you send the email to?? Have you received an automated response to that email?

Are you sure your friend didn't have his/her application returned by mail? Keep in mind it would be returned to his/her mailing address and not the residential address (in case is different)

General inquiries sometimes take up 20 days. Since the 20 days have already passed, I would send another email - providing
as much information ( name, date of birth, uci, etc ) as possible and ask about the application.
