I'm stuck on "Medical Received" for one month. Not sure what I can do now. Maybe I should order GCMS Notes or just keep waiting ?
Criminality and security check will proceed after medicals; perhaps by this month end we should have some good news from CIC. Getting GCMS will take a month to receive

They asked me to submit a letter from doctor, indicating expected due date for child. My case will be on hold till then.
I will update spreadsheet later.. thanks

Shouldn’t be a problem, certainly doc will send the information to CIC in a required format . You need to communicate with the doc

Hi p_sreenath

Actually my medical physician already told them about pregnancy. I think there is a check box for pregnant. But I will double check with him. Yesterday I sent a letter from my doctor. ..

I have a question for the Forum member and I would really appreciate your guidance.
My current work permit is set to expire in the first week of April. The current status of my PR application is that my medicals have been submitted. They have also been received by CIC. The status on eCAS shows "In Process".

My company's HR department worked with a lawyer in the initial work permit application and are suggesting that I apply for another work permit since timelines are not always accurate and they don't want me to miss the deadline. Do you think it's worth waiting for the PPR or is it ok to start the work permit process again? Would it affect my file?

Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks

I'm not expert however I think you don't need to apply for another work permit(i.e. start the work permit process again), you can simply apply for a bridging open work permit.

Also I think you should be able to get your PR before April ...

Suggest to apply for the bridging open work permit now.
The PR varies case by case. Nobody knows the result until you become a PR.

Hey Vik, Myself and a friend of mine have applied for bridging open work permit, and it does not even take a month to obtain it, so far it has been a really fast process. My friend applied for it by the end of december and last week she got it. So I would recommend not to apply for it now. I would wait at least one more month from now. If I were you I would apply by the end of February.

Me 2, stuck since early Dec. Talked to lawyers, they said we should not reach out to CIC until 25 months! Thats so bizarre.......
Btw what is GCMS?

IMHO you should reach CIC or get GCMS notes ASAP.

Refer this thread for GCMS Notes:

I am waiting for my notes on 3 Feb...GCMS is like monthly magazine for me now.....

Thanks ds3010. What you are suggesting makes a lot of sense. I will wait till end of February.
