I feel your pain buddy... I happen to be in the exact same situation. Although my case is slightly different. I selected New York as my visa office, but CIC sent my case to CPP-Ottawa. Maybe because I am already in Canada.

That was lightning quick - congrats Gaurav. I wish would have selected the NDVO instead of CPP-ottawa

Congratulations Gaurav,

You don't have to send an FBI clearance certificate for your wife if her stay hasnt been more than 6 months. I worked in the US for 8 years before moving to Canada and my wife lived in the US for 5 months. We didn't have to submit an FBI clearance for her either.

Cheers!!

Congratulations to all who received passport & medical request!!! I received my medical/passport request too today!!! I was not expecting it to be frank since my application reached CIO on april 29,2013 & going by NDVO processing time i was having no idea that i will receive it this early....shocked ..happy though!!!

By the way i have one question for you all. Please provide you suggestions. CIC mentioned in letter that i need to provide:

"FBI Clearance: If your residence period in the USA has been six months or longer since
the age of 18, provide an original FBI clearance certificate for you and your spouse This
must be received at this office by: 12/07/2013"

In my case, I worked in USA for two years before coming to Canada & have already obtained FBI clearance from them but my spouse stayed there for only 3 months. Do i still need to provide police clearance for her as mentioned above?

Terki: Congratulations to you!!! Are you planning to send your passport to NDVO from Canada? Could you please let me know how can we send our passport to India as i am in similar situation?

Thank you all in advance.

- Gaurav

Thanks Vik for your reply. Appreciated!!

This is disgusting and sad..
Wish I was a refugee now... and then they would give me a red carpet welcome and PR in 2 months, dole of 1000 bucks a month and maybe some money to buy a house even..

NO respect whatsover for hardoworking folks who pay taxes on time and contribute to the system..shame on CIC

Since CEC timelines shows 13 months, I guess my next option to apply under CEC. It’s pathetic service from CIC flocks. I my opinion we should accept the reality and move on with our professional life.

this is just utterly shameless.....8 months to 15 months and now to 25 months....I should have just applied to New Delhi...

This sure is awful. I just spoke with a CIC agent though and she mentioned that those numbers go up and down all the time, it doesn't mean much. We might still get our medical requests in a couple of months.. Not sure whether to believe it or not.

Oh and in case you applied from within Canada, your file automatically gets sent to CPP Ottawa. Even if you selected New Delhi as your visa office.
